1. Patience by the bucket load
All successful classroom managers have patience by the bucket load. As a teacher you are going to have to face difficult and stressful situations on a daily basis. How you deal with this situations will partly determine the behavior of the students that you teach.
Start losing your temper and snapping at your students and you will quickly destroy the working relationships that you have with them. And that will almost inevitably lead to inappropriate student behavior and more difficult classroom management.
2. Determination to succeed
If you want to develop super effective classroom management strategies, then you need skill and talent. But you also need determination.
Teaching is hard, and if you want to stamp your authority on the classes that you teach then you must be absolutely determined to impose your will upon the class. Whatever it takes!
3. Consistency at all times
Consistency at all times is absolutely fundamental to a positive and well behaved classroom. In fact, if you're not consistent every single day in the way that you deal with classroom management issues then you're almost bound to experience classroom management problems.
Teaching is hard, and it's not getting any easier. But if you are patient, determined, and consistently at ALL times within the classroom, then you can start to improve your classroom management skills almost INSTANTLY.
