Help Promote Child Literacy

The Literacy Site was founded, in 2004, to help promote literacy among children from low-income families nationwide.

Many children, around the globe, receive their very first book due to this partnership between the Literacy Site and non-profit organizations like First Book and Room to Read, giving many children their very first book. It works on the innovative "Click-to-Give" concept. With a simple click of a mouse you provide free books to less fortunate children around the world.

This simple online giving concept works as follows:

1. You click daily at The Literacy Site;
2. Sponsors pay for books;
3. Children in need get free books.

In the year 2011, clicks from supporters provided 389,872 books for children in need. Read on to find out how your clicks can make a difference in childrens' lives!

How Does The Literacy Site Work?

You can click once a day, every day of the year

The Literacy SiteSupporters visit the site and click everyday on the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button. These clicks are recorded by their servers and a Thank You page is displayed after each click displaying ads from their site sponsors.

You don't need to click on the ads and there is no cost to you. 100% of the ad revenue generated through clicks is directed to the Literacy site charitable partners. The more people click, the more books are provided.

All the clicks from supporters are tabulated and then site sponsors are billed accordingly for the appropriate amount. The Literacy Site then gives the funding to First Book and Room to Read, who distribute the free books to programs serving children in need.

Supporters can click once daily, every day of the year at the Literacy Site. An internal system is set up to monitor one click per supporter, per calendar day. If you click multiple times in one day, only one click will count.

The Importance of Early Literacy

Early Literacy in Children is a Proven Path to Success

Dr. Robert C. Titzer, an expert infant researcher, indicates that waiting to teach kids to learn to read until Kindergarten is too late. Results of several studies have proven that children who were early readers developed more self-confidence and self-esteem as well as performed better in school. Every parent wants their kids to grow up and excel in life, early learning skills, is the best gift that they can give their children.

    I recently read that in uk * 2 million children face injury or death every year because their parents have not fitted their car safety seat correctly.

    * Experts say that a collision of just 5mph can kill an unrestrained child in a car
