Preserve the Rainforests with Your Clicks

The Rainforest Site is dedicated to the preservation of rainforests around the world.

The concept is a simple 3-step process and it costs you nothing, but a click:

1. You click daily at The Rainforest Site;
2. Sponsors pay for habitat protection;
3. Rainforests are preserved.

Supporters click everyday to help fund the purchase of rainforest land by organizations like The Nature Conservancy, The Rainforest Conservation Fund, The World Parks Endowment, and Rainforest2Reef. These organizations work together to help preserve rainforest land around the world.

The Rainforest Site focuses the power of the internet in the preservation of the world's rainforests. Land preservation, made possible by funds raised at The Rainforest Site, is paid for by site sponsors and carried out by The Rainforest Site partners.

In 2011, visitor clicks funded the preservation and protection of 449,799,494 square feet of rainforest and the habitats of tens of thousands of plant and animal species. Read on to find out how your little clicks can make a big difference!

About The Rainforest Site

Preserving and protecting the Rainforests: Click by Click

15668-20.jpgThe Rainforest Site is a phenomenal website which was launched in May 2000 to help preserve the world's rainforest.

The site has various partner organizations that preserve rainforest land in several locations across the world including Peru, Mexico, Ecuador and Paraguay.

Supporters all across the world visit the Rainforest Site every day to click help with this ecological need to preserve the rainforests. Over 5,650 acres of endangered land were persevered in the very first year of operation.

Tim Kunin and Greg Hesterberg own and operate the Rainforest Site. They are co-owners of CharityUSA.com which is the parent company of the GreaterGood Network. They have been long-time friends and environmental activist and decided to harness the power of the internet to develop this very innovative and effective "click to give" concept.

The Rainforest Site

GreaterGood.org distributes 100% of the funds received through clicks and donations directly to their partner charities. It is a charitable organization which devotes itself to helping people in need (especially women and children), abandoned animals and protecting the environment.

On average, over 35,500 individuals from around the world visit the site each day to click the green "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button. To date, more than 150 million visitors have preserved more than 40,500 acres of land.

In 2010, visitor clicks funded the preservation and protection of 455,029,507 square feet of rainforest and the habitats of tens of thousands of plant and animal species across ten thousand acres of land.

How Does the Rainforest Site Work?

You can click once a day, every day of the year

The Rainforest Site       The Rainforest Site       The Rainforest Site

Supporters visit the site and click everyday on the green "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button. These clicks are recorded by their servers and a Thank You page is displayed after each click displaying ads from their site sponsors.

You don't need to click on the ads and there is no cost to you. 100% of the ad revenue generated through clicks is directed to the Rainforest Site charitable partners. The more people click, the endangered habitat is protected.

All the clicks from supporters are tabulated and then site sponsors are billed accordingly for the appropriate amount. The funds generated are then distributed to the charitable partners some of which are The Nature Conservancy, The Rainforest Conservation Fund, World Land Trust-US, and Rainforest2Reef.

Supporters can click once daily, every day of the year at the Rainforest Site. An internal system is set up to monitor one click per supporter, per calendar day. If you click multiple times in one day, only one click will count.

    I heard of this site a while ago, it sounds like a great idea, and it's such a shame that our natural places like this are being destroyed through greed. Excellent job.

    My ultra ego and I get to leave back to back comments on protecting the environment. With our new regulations implemented here in Canada I am even more concerned about our environment than in the past. Our forests, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and oceans, so desperately need our protection at this point in history.

    LOL, how cool is that :) ~ I agree, Canada needs to step up to the plate in terms of environmental protection. In the meantime, let's continue to do what we can. Thanks again for your support! :)

    When reading this very comprehensive lens about the plight of our rain forest I thought about the intiative that the Costa Rican government has taken in preserving their precious rain forest.

    Although rain forest make up 2 percent of the planets land mass, they are home to over 50 percent of earths plant and animal species. This fact in itself is movtivational enough for me to do my part in making sure our rain forests are protected. They are our "air filters"!

    Well said...couldn't agree more with regards to protecting our rainforests. We can all do our part and a great place to start is with out simple clicks...thanks for your support! :)

    All environments & habitats need to be protected! Rainforests are extremely important for a number of reasons; as you noted, we might benefit from plants in them, plants which we haven't yet "discovered." And it's just not morally right to wipe out a habitat, and those species who live there along with it.

    It is important to protect our environment ! I added this page of yours to mine, under the right side bar related pages using the discovery tool.

    I like green (and religion) so I created a page where green and religion enthusiasts can unite. It's about "Is Green Earth Biblical?" - and listed on my christian myths page - the 1st in a series. Each part of the series shows WHAT is true and WHAT IS NOT in Christianity. The one related to green is the 1st lens - christianity-myths

    Thanks, we all can make a difference in protecting the earth. I just read your lens on what the Bible says about Green and found it a very interesting read. Thanks for your support and work!

    It's the first time I've been over to visit this lens and I felt as though I went on a relaxing vacation. In fact, I even went back just to scroll down and enjoy the beauty of the page - the color schemes, photos and so on. The message is powerful without being pushy yet entices people to come back and take another look. Great job on this lens!
