The Wisdom of Inspector Callahan

Clint Eastwood's character - Inspector Harry Callahan - was fond of making philosophical statements, while blowing away bad guys.
It was one of the reasons that the "Dirty Harry" series became such a massive hit.

It started, with - of course - "Dirty Harry" (1971) and the exisential question asked by Easwood pointing a .44 Magnum revolver at a killer he cornered - "Do you feel lucky, punk?!"

In 1973, in "Magnum Force", philosopher Callahan utters a deeply philosophical observation when he blows up ( with a bomb) a renegade cop who is driving away, thinking he framed Calahan for murder - "A man's got to know his limitations"

In 1983, "Sudden Impact" introduced us to "Go ahead, make my day" - afterwards used to describe as "Make My Day Laws" the so called Castle Laws passed in most states that absolve a homeowner from any legal liability for use of even deadly force against an invader in his home.
