Clive Cussler's books have it all! Fast reading, fun reading, and a thrill on every page. It's fun to occasionally find a character in his books named "Clive Cussler"--it's also fun to participate in the adventures of Dirk Pitt, his main character. Cussler's writing is vivid--easy to see in your mind.
One of his recent books, "The Chase" (available below) features a different angle that involves the Wild, Wild West at the turn of the century (1900's, that is)--including Montana (including FLATHEAD LAKE!) and Trains!
Another one of his recent books, "Medusa" features the islands of Micronesia as the starting point of a chilling and thrilling adventure that also involves deadly jellyfish. I've just read this book, and therefore had to post it here as one of my favorites!
If you start one of these books, remember to reserve some weekend time to get through it. Once you've started one of his novels, you won't want to put it down!

- Good lens! I personally still love the first Clive Cussler I read: Inca Gold. I had no idea what to expect from him and I totally loved it. Still do.

- I think I enjoyed Dragon, Cyclops and Treasure the most, and definitely the Dirk Pitt series as a whole more than the rest
