It's a Cocker Spaniel's Life

This pic was taken just last week. I dig wearing a sweater, because it gets really cold out there, and I do think red is my color. "GO BUCKS!" My Mommy says that a lot.

I just got groomed recently, what do you think?

I have a lot of nicknames. "The Murph" is the main one. You know, like "The Donald". I am partial to "Murphus Aurelius" because I sound so regal, and...so....Roman?

Romans wore red a lot, didn't they?

Here's a good shot of me with my pink "outdoor" ball, running around the backyard. I was only about 4 or 5 then. Ahhhh, youth!

Like I said before, I can sleep....ALOT! A nap after breakfast, then maybe after lunch. Then sometime mid afternoon is always a great time for one. People are usually working then, so it's good and quiet. But I have been known to sleep through noisy situations: parties, football games (my Mommy loves those and often yells at the TV, but that's cool). I sleep right through it. Supposedly I snore, too, really loud. I don't know.

Winter is one of my favorite seasons, and the snow is great! I love galloping in it and catching snowflakes! Except I don't really like the balls of snow that get caught in my paws

I do love the holidays, especially Christmas! I get so many great treats and toys. I even like to get dressed up.

The satin "Ho Ho Ho!" bow tie is a nice touch. Festive, huh? ;)

Stump stumped the crowd and just about every other dog in the 133rd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show by winning Best in Show on Tuesday night.

The 10-year-old Sussex spaniel became the oldest Westminster winner in history and the first of his breed to win the silver cup. In one of the most stunning results in recent Westminster history, Stump came out of retirement to win his first show in four years. Owner-handler Scott Sommer decided last Wednesday to bring Stump to the big show, just for fun.

Needless to say, there was no pressure or expectations. "This was like going for a walk with my pet," Sommer said.

Stump won the Sporting Group in 2004; the next year he nearly died after a serious ailment. "His insides stopped working," Sommer said. Stump spent 19 days with veterinarians at Texas A&M, who saved his life. "A miracle," Sommer said. He could have been talking about both feats.
