List of Books & Movies on "The Colbert Report" - Current Season (2012)

"I don't trust books. They're all fact, no heart." says Stephen Colbert. Now, while this may be true, Stephen has a lot of authors on his show who have written books that I want to read. So here's a list from the current season (2012).

You can also find book lists from earlier seasons in my list of lenses below. And don't forget to check out the list of books from the current season of The Daily Show.

Favourite Book from April 2012

I love books that challenge assumptions and break down what is really happening in the less-tangible areas of our lives. Michael Sandel does this in his newest book, What Money Can't Buy: The Moral Limits of Markets. Sandel discusses aspects of our culture and our society that were generally considered not-for-sale, but are now possibly on a slippery slope of a market-driven society.

Stephen Has a New Book!

And it's not *really* for kids

Stephen's written another book - this time for kids. Or, well, maybe NOT for kids. It's the story of a flag pole's search for its life purpose. And the proceeds from the audio book (narrated by Tom Hanks) will be donated to usvetsinc.org.

Favourite Book from Winter 2012

House of Stone: A Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East

Anthony Shadid's memoir, House of Stone: A Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East, is an evocative account of Shadid restoring his ancestral home in southern Lebanon. While telling the story of his family, he helps readers understand the complex and ever-changing political landscape of the Middle East.

Are you using an eReader yet?

I got an eReader recently and I have to admit there are some things I really like about it. I took it on vacation and it was great to have a dozen books with me in the space of a slim hardback. And I actually find the eInk very easy on the eyes. But I miss the flipping of pages when I want to look at something I read before.

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on a job well done, excellent work (lens) on your part. In addition, I would also like to congratulate you on the purple star and having the #1 lens, what, truly an honor. You are probally well on your way of becoming an established writer or writer for hire. I like the new kindle, I think it's pretty darn neat. I would like to to take a trip some where nice and log on to Squidoo. I know a little about the Colbert Report now
