Review:
The Recon Scout is a large fixed blade knife with amazing heft and strength. With a 7.5" powder coated blade this knife has plenty of ability to cut whatever you need. I have actually seen video of this combat knife being used to split a 14 inch piece of two by four lengthwise. In the same video, a full sized marine sticks this knife in a wall and stands on it. Very strong. Very nice.
If you are in the market for an incredibly strong fixed blade combat knife, consider the Recon Scout.
Safe Maker I
Push Knife Extrodinaire

AUS 8A Stainless steel blade

Secure-Ex® boot/belt sheath.
Safe Maker I Review:
The larger of the two Safe Maker's is the I. With over 25 years making push knives, Cold Steel has possibly perfected teh art with the Safe Maker series. This larger version offers "big knife" cutting and piercing potential in an incredibly small, compact package--and unlike a gun it doesn't run out of ammo or malfunction. Because of this, it has generated a huge following among police, SWAT, and military personnel.
The Safe Maker push knives were designed by Lynn Thompson and are by far the best push knives available in the world. The blade, shaft and tang are drop forged from one piece of AUS 8A stainless steel. This makes the knife easy to grasp in a closed fist with no burrs or strange joints that irritate the hand or fingers. After it is forged, the knife is vacuum heat treated and sub zeor quenched. This makes for a virtually unbreakable blade. This is an amazing knife.
The grips are made of shock absorbing Kraton, a trademarked product, that totally covers the tang and part of the shaft. This makes the Safe Maker I very nice and comfortable to hold.
This knife can be used to deliver incredibly hard punching blows and fast slashing cuts. The knife also comes with a sturdy Secure-Ex boot or belt sheath. Very nice. If you have any reason to carry a push knife, I would recommend getting the Safe Maker I or II. They are the best in the market.

Urban Dart
Strap It On, Anywhere
Cold Steel's Urban Dart, the CS530JD, is nearly a perfect urban knife. It is patterned after a Bob Engath knife and has simple and economical lines and shape. It is kind of like the Spike series from Cold Steel but has a couple of major differences.First, the knife making technology is a huge advance for Cold Steel. This knife is drop forged in a TRIANGULAR cross. Ridiculous! After being forged, the knife goes through a top notch hollow grinding, polishing and hand sharpening process that gets it to its lethally wicked finish state.
Second, the simple teardrop shaped handle is small, thin and made from Kraton. This gives you extra gripping power and protects your hand when used as a push knife.
Every Urban Dart comes with a Secure-Ex® sheath that can be easily stored or tied on you almost anywhere anywhere. You can pick one up at the Urban Dart knife page from BladeOps.com.
Urban Dart Specifications:
Blade: 5 3/4"
Overall: 8"
Weight: 3.3oz.
Thick: 7.5mm
Steel: AUS 8A Stainless
Kraton® handle.
