Peanuts: Home Collection--A Collector's Guide to Identification and Value
My personal favorite
Things I Learned After It Was Too Late (And Other Minor Truths)
Collecting advice from a well-seasoned collector
2. Buy stuff you can resell if need be. Unless you're filling holes in your collection or it's something you just have to have, pass up that broken, bargain Snoopy. He's cute, but what do you do when you find a better one and no one wants him. He's Snoopy! You can't just throw him out. Don't worry, someone else will adopt him even if you pass him up.
3. Don't pass up something you dearly love. Just because it might be a lot cheaper in a collector's guide, you may never find another. Give it a chance. If you love it, another collector might also love it too and buy it if you have to sell later. You might even make a profit!
4. Show it off! Don't hid your collection in boxes. If you don't have a lot of space, rotate your display every few months.
5. Learn the ins-and-outs. Make sure you're an expert when it comes to collecting Peanuts. Know the characters. Know the manufacturers and their approximate dates. Know the about the copyright dates. If you come across an item that isn't in the book, it's helpful to know a basic history to determine its value.
6. Get back to the basics. If you get caught up in the hunt, remember to sit down with the books, the holiday specials, or your childhood Snoopy. Remember why you're a Peanuts Collector!

- Thanks Collectors Cottage!
When I was a kid, I couldn't wait until my birthday when I got a free book from a local bookstore! I'd always get a Peanuts paperback!
