Bonanzle - Antique Collecting

We speak of our passion for accumulating treasures as an addiction which is infectious. We know that going out searching for our favorite treasure is a sure way of improving our mood.

What is true for every collector is that when we are out and about hunting for collectible we are having a ball, we are feeling good. Whether we are feeling a bit nostalgic, crying the blue or feeling a little jumpy we know how to cure ourselves at these times. We go out and search for more treasures. For myself, I lose track of time and go from one sale to another sale all day. I have been known to leave the house in the early morning and not get back to midnight. I cannot bypass a yard or garage sale.

Those of use who simple like to buy odds and ends and fill our homes with coffeepots, teapots, cups and saucers, dolls, stamps, books, and the like. What drives us to build collections and keeps us wanting more? What is going on here, collectors, will tell you, and is that is not so much about the item, we are collecting, but rather the hunt. When we are out and about antiquing, we are in another world. We escape our everyday routine, stress, troubles and the like and for hours or a weekend, we enter a new peaceful world where everything is fine. Here our biggest worry is whether we should bypass a likely item and wait to see what the next sell brings.

Collecting is a passion and like any other passion, we tend to get swept away in the process. We aren't always able to control our passion for collecting our favorite items.

Antiquing is fun and satisfying. We enjoy the hobby and the new friendships that are formed as we find other collectiors who share our passion and interests, when you are absorbed in the hunt, you are happy.
