The Business of Lawn Care
Hello Everyone!

If you love the outdoors, want to make a good living, and set your own work hours, whether full-time or part-time, this lens will get you the secrets to success in starting and running your own lawn care business.
People are so busy today that they higher out a lot of tasks around the house that they used to do themselves, like mowing the lawn. People who hire this out are willing to pay $50-$75 for regular suburban home lawn to be mowed and edged every week to 10 days during the grass growing season. If the lawn is bigger, there is more money to be made.
Personally, in the past, I have actually had to find other commercial lawn care people because someone I had hired was just too busy to continue working in my area. Now that's a high-demand business! The going rate for my lawn is now $75 per service. I know because that's how much I charge to do other lawns in my neighborhood. I could probably ask for more and get it, but economic times are tough enough for folks and I am not a proponent of price-gouging. When there is a reason to raise a price, like higher fuel costs or increased cost of equipment maintenance and repair, then I feel it's okay to raise your price. But raising it for the heck of it is unethical in my book.
Don't forget about businesses that require lawn care. They are willing to pay to keep the lawn areas around their buildings and parking lots well-groomed. I haven't seen a local business owner mow the grass in front of his or her business in a long time, except for the hardware store up the street. The junior, teenage clerk gets that privilege as part of his/her work duties. It's a small area and only takes about 10 minutes with a push mower.
So come on in, browse around and consider looking into the flexible, profitable world of lawn care.

- I'm surprised that Toro zero turn mowers are not mentioned more in your post. I think they lead the pack for commercial and homeowner zero turns.
