Red Worms for Composting
When I started worm composting, I had no idea that the Red Worms were the worms to use for worm composting. I had so many questions it was unbelievable. I was lucky to have great friends that directed in the right direction. One of my friends suggested that I read this e-book "Worm Farming Secrets/ Worm Composting Information & Advice!. (I just want you know that this is just my opinion there is no need to go and get the e-book). But they do have a great FREE Newsletter that you could sign up for. Just a thought.......For me it was a wealth of information. I have been trying my hardest to recycle as many things as I possible can.
I feel worm composting is one of those things that people should be been doing. Why throw out a banana skin it the garbage and have it go into the landfill when I can give it to my red worms for dinner.
Just for some Fun!

Names of Compost Worms
Really there is only one choice....

Ok, so now here's the question? What kind of worms? Should they be Red, Red Wriggler, Red wiggler. However people say or spell them, Red Wiggler Worms are the way to go.
They have an incredible appetite and can eat more than their weight in food a day. Don't ever use ordinary garden or night crawler worms as they don't like to be in bins and their appetites are not the same as Red Wriggler's.
Look can buy them live .....
How many Red Worms for Compost ?

Now, that you know what type of worms you should be using. You are probably wondering how many? Well, for a person just starting out I would recommend about a pound. A pound would be equal to about 1,000 worms.
It's kind of gross to think about but it's good for the environment. Right?! If you wanted to go less than that to start with you could try it. The red worms will multiple to some extent. The worms will usually stabilize and will slow down multiplying because of the size of their bin and food supply.

- I like your approach of writing about your hands on learning. When do we get to see your pictures? They are easy to browse and add to the module.
