Condo Mania!

Real estate markets all across the U.S. have just gone through a boom and now bust cycle.  During the height of the boom market, condo mania swept the nation. Apartments were converted to condos in record numbers and developers started ambitious new condo high rise projects.  Also, the hybrid condotel, part condo part hotel, has appeared in a number of markets.

Although the condo mania has subsided, the fundamental reasons for the condo market popularity continue to hold true including:

Right Location: Condos often are located in the heart of urban activity. Long commutes from suburbia are out, walking distance to life's amenities are in.

Right Size:  Condo, Loft and Townhome floorplans fit us in multiple life stages.  Just out of school and need your first place? Or, faced with an empty nest?  Looking for a low maintenance second home? Tired of home and yard maintenance chores?  Looking for a comfy retirement home? All reasons why condos fit.

Right Price Home prices for the most desirable locations, (beach front, downtown, golf course, vacation destination, etc.) are still out of reach for many.  Condos may offer more affordable housing choices in these markets.

Right Style: Many of the recent condo conversions have had high end remodeling efforts bringing the homes up to date.  While, many of the new condo developments, have state of the art design, architecture and amenitites.  High ceilings, loft style layouts, floor to ceiling windows, among other features are in demand.

The Condos, Loft and Townhomes lifestyle may not be for everyone. But the large selection, more affordable options, locations make it a real solution of many of us.
