The Downadup Virus otherwise known as Conficker exploits a bug that was patched last October in Microsoft Security Update MS08-067, so so please make sure you have this installed, you can get on the Microsoft website. The really smart thing about this nasty piece of work is the fact that it will install onto your computer and wait for a batch of malware and spyware to be sent from another computer or server.
How Does The Downadup/Conficker Virus Work
It uses a complicated algorithm program which changes daily and is based on timestamps from public websites such as Google.com. With this algorithm, the worm generates a lot of possible domain names every day.
Hundreds of names such as: qimkwaify .ws, mphtfrxs .net, gxjofpj .ws, imctaef .cc ect ,This makes it impossible to get these servers shut down as there are so many of them and most of them are never registered in the first place.
