Blogs About Congenital Heart Defects

Here are some blogs I found when I really needed to read others' stories. These are mainly "tet babies" because that is what I was searching for--but I will include any relevant blogs brought to my attention. If you have a blog or know someone who does, leave it in the comments and I will add it.

Our Story...

On August 9, 2006, our beautiful baby girl came into this world. It was a long labor and her Daddy was thousands of miles away but that was okay...she was here and she was perfect.

Then, increasingly worrying reports came to us of a heart murmur. Still, they assured us, she was fine. Babies with heart problems do not feed well and look blue, they said, and our baby was ravenous and a delightful shade of pink.

Finally, a long drive to a major hospital three hours away and we had a diagnosis: Tetralogy of Fallot.

My heart nearly broke, but I had my little girl depending on me. So, I concentrated on her. Through three months alone, with colic, we survived.

On November 6, 2006, she had a successful repair. She is missing her pulmonary valve, but otherwise is heart healthy.

This lens contains the resources I have found useful. Please share your own as well!
