With the 1080p model, you have a number of recording options as well, two at 720p, one at 960p, and the highest setting giving you a whopping 1080p for full HD recording. It's also easy to operate with a simple one-button control for 8 hours of recording. Uploading your video is simple too, and the Contour HD 1080p is compatible with both PC and Mac operating systems. Best of all is the inexpensive price tag. On Amazon, you can get one new for around 330 bucks.

Wind noise is still an issue with the 1080p. Its built in microphone begins to produce a lot of wind noise at high speeds, but the fact is, all sports cams share that disability. Also, if you're uploading HD video to an older PC or Mac, expect some choppiness. That's not the camera's fault, but you still need to know and be prepared. If you purchase the Contour HD 1080p, really think about getting the mount accessory. You DON'T absolutely have to have it, but it will expand your mounting options.

All in all, I'd have to say the Contour HD 1080p helmet camera is a pretty sweet little performer. With the wide angle view set at 135 degrees, your sports video isn't going to have tunnel vision and the price isn't going to break the bank.
