Negative income tax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In economics, a negative income tax (abbreviated NIT) is a method of tax reform that has been discussed among economists but never fully implemented. It was developed by Juliet Rhys-Williams in the 1940s and later by United States economist Milton Friedman in 1962 in Capitalism and Freedom. Negative income taxes can implement a basic income or supplement a guaranteed minimum income system.

A negative income tax is a progressive income tax system which taxes higher salaries at higher rates on the one end, while, on the low end, its rates decline to zero and below into negative taxation rates. In such a system, those at a certain income level would owe no taxes. Those above that level would pay a percentage of their income above that level, while those below would receive a payment of a percentage of their shortfall, which is the amount their income falls below that level.

How Does the Negative Income Tax Work?
"In [the] purest form [of an] NIT,...[t]he needy would, like everyone else, simply file annual-or perhaps quarterly-income returns with the Internal Revenue Service. But unlike other filers who would make payments to the IRS, based on the amount by which their incomes exceeded the threshold for tax liability, NIT beneficiaries would receive payments ('negative taxes') from the IRS, based on how far their incomes fell below the tax threshold. The NIT would thus be a mirror image of the regular tax system. Instead of tax liabilities varying positively with income according to a tax rate schedule, benefits would vary inversely with income according to a negative tax rate (or benefit-reduction) schedule."1 For example, a family of four with no other income might receive a $6,000 benefit-called the "guarantee" in the accompanying article-and, with a 50 percent tax rate, the benefit would be reduced by $500 for every $1,000 it earned. Hence if the family earned $1,000, its benefit would be reduced from $6,000 to $5,500.

The response from voters all across the state was overwhelming. This is one reason why I am running. These pepole who have found injustice in the court need their voice heard. That will only be done with change: change in the judiciary, change in the Grand Jury, and change in our legislators in St. Paul.

JUDGE OUR COURTS

There has come a crisis of lawlessness within our judicial branch.
The Minnesota Legislature has enacted statutes (law), which are contrary to the Constitution of the State of Minnesota.
These statutes give power to the judicial branch that is excluded by article III Section 1 of the Constitution of the State of Minnesota.
Because of actions of the Minnesota Legislature giving the Judicial Branch unbridled power, the judges have been:
1) Taking "tips" and money
2) Falsifying transcripts
3) Removing evidence from the file
4) Writing orders that cannot be appealed
5) Ignoring the law and writing their own "new laws".

The obligation to resolve this crisis rests upon the elected officials and ultimately on the Citizens for whom the state of Minnesota was created, for government does not exist absent the consent of the people.
