Plenty of people managed to drag themselves out of bed for the New Years Day sunshine in Benalmadena marina. After the lively events of New years eve on the costa del sol, many folks would be experiencing mild if not heavy after effects of the celebrations bringing in the New Year. Some venues held their own events from disco's to firework displays. Fuengirola church square brought the new year in with free grapes and champagne for the attendants. Despite this the sunshine dragged lots of people out of bed and into the local restaurants for lunch most likely followed a by a well deserved siesta. A great start to the year ahead.
