BDN 5 "Counting Is So Hard To Do!"

Ranked #51,043 in Travel & Places, #1,291,755 overall

Oh WOW!

A big old, school bus, came rolling in. It had all the old 1960's paintings on it, with matching curtains. The door swung open and a big cloud of smoke came rolling out. So thick, I could not see anyone inside!

Fianlly a guy, with long hair and the old hippy garb, stumbled out of the smoke and down the steps. He asked, as almost every vehicle that came in did, "How much to stay?" I said, $20.00 for 2 people and $2 for each extra person. He replied, "That's Cool", and stood there!

I waited, and we were both stuck in a time wrap! As he gazed off and all I could do was look at him, waiting for an answer. Finally, I said, "How many people are there in your bus?" He replied, "Hum, I don't know!" Again, we were stuck in a time warp!

Again, I took the initiative to bring us out of the time wrap. I said, "Why don't you count the people in the bus?" He shook his head a little, and said, "Oh, Wow, that's an idea." He turned and stumbled up the steps of the bus, I waited.

I heard him tell the people they had to count the people in the bus. He first started.. "One, Two, Three, Four..." Then again, "One, Two, Three, Four, Five..hum, One, Two, Three..hum." Then a girl tried, "One, Two, Three, Four, Five..hum." No one could get pass Five!

Finally, I leaned in the bus, and noticed, all the seats were gone! Only the floorboards were left. What I could see, through the smoke, was wall to wall people. Most with people sitting on each other. I gave up. I told the guy, look, let's say 11, you owe me $22 plus the $20. He said, "All..Right!, then back to the time warp!

I finally got him to give me the money. I told him to drive to the back and to the right, where ALL the other trailers, RV and cars were. "Don't go left, the ground is really soft to the left and you might get stuck. Go to the end of this row and go RIGHT where everyone else is parked!"

He said, "That's Cool."

I watched him drive off, and I started checking the next vehicle in.

I looked up from checking the next person in and saw, the bus got to the back of the RV Park AND, he turned LEFT! He made it a couple of spaces, and dug right in.

I had to jump in the golf cart and rush over. As soon as I got there, the guy came out. I said, "Didn't you understand me, I told you to go RIGHT, Not LEFT!" His reply.. "Oh WOW!"

The bus would not start from inside, so the guy got out, to restart it, with a screwdriver. I sat there watching him, as he gunned the engine, making the tires spin in place. Throwing rocks, dirt and some mud everywhere. Then the bus engine died. Again, he repeated this act, and again, over and over.

Finally, I told him to tell ALL the people to get out of the bus, then try it.

One of the girls, not much older than my youngest child, got out of the bus and walked over to me. She asked, "Can I drive your golf cart?' I replied, "Do you have a driver's license?" She said, "Yes." I told her, "Let me see it" and everyone from the bus, started busting out in laughter. I assumed she did not have one. She sunk her head down and shuffled over to the others.

The guy kept restarting the bus, then gunning the engine. Over and over. Throwing a wake of rocks, dirt and such for quite a distance.

Finally, I said, "Why don't you all push it?"

I sat on the cart, watching this "Classic Move." Half got in front, half in the back. The guy came out restarted the engine. Then went to the gas pedal and gunned it, as they all pushed.

The ones in the back pushing to their forward, the ones in the front, pushing to their forward. I started busting up.

After wiping the tears out of my eyes, from laughter, and finally being able to talk without busting into laughter, I told them, "Wait, wait, wait!" "You might want to ALL get to one end and push together!"

Of course, the reply was, "Oh, WOW."

After a couple of tries, the bus backed it's way out, of the deep ruts they created. Slowly it started to get traction and boy what a roaring cheer, burst out of all of them. Like they had discovered the cure for cancer!

Slowly they followed me to the RIGHT side of the campground.

Not having dinner, due to this massive sudden invasion, something was in the air making me very hungry.

I sniffed and sniffed, then looked for someone cooking outside.

I followed my nose back to that big bus. The smell was coming from the bus. Could not help myself, I asked the driver about the smell. He explained the bus ran on old, used cooking oil. That really interested me.

I got the highlights from him, but with vehicles backing up, I told him I would come back when he and I were not so busy and check it out.

Now my stomach was really rumbling!

I guess the guy could go to a fast food resturant, and not only ask for a burger and fries but for their oil! Fill up both tanks!

"Let The Games Begin"

The City Wild Life

A regular looking couple, with a nice, newer looking RV, rolled up. Very business looking type.
I strolled up to the driver's side to talk to the driver. I wanted to make sure they were part of the New Year's Concert at the fairgrounds. If they were not going to the concert, they needed to be aware of the fact that this might not be a very quite night here.
But, as I was explaining, he informed me he was there to go to the concert. I ran down the cost.
He asked if I could give him a break, because it was New Year Eve and only charge him $10?
I told him "No".
Then he informed me that he had "friends" that were already here, in the RV Park.
I asked if he wanted to go find them and ask them for another $10?
Noticing I caught him, in what I think was a line, he said "No." So, I told him, I was sorry, but he had to turn around and leave, if he did not pay the $20.
Then his wife/girlfriend came out of the RV. She slid right over to me, and in a low whisper, she said "I have brownies!"
I told her, "That might have worked when I was 19, but I'm Not and It's Not!"
She got back in the RV and they proceeded to turn the RV around, by going up to the next row. I watched him turn around and come right past me to leave out the driveway.
But suddenly, I looked up, from registering another RV and their RV was moving backwards..slowly. I stood there and watched.
Once he got right next to me again, I walked over and tapped on his window and said, "What Are You Doing?"
With a straight face he said, "I thought if I backed in, you would not notice!"
I shook my head, and told him to "Get Out Of Here!"
He did leave, this time for good.
I went back to checking people in, when all of a sudden a loud roar, cheering and honking started in, coming from the vehicles backed down the street, waiting to come in. I stopped to see what was going on.
Squinting and looking out to the road, I noticed a person walking down the middle of it. The cars/trucks/RV/etc. were flashing their high beams, honking and yelling.
Finally I could make out a women walking down the middle of the road, lifting her top and flashing everyone!
I guess she was trying to drum up business.. Or just giving everyone a New Year Eve Thrill!
