Crafts As Gifts

Crafts That I Have Made As Gifts

Hello to everyone. I am building this lens to "show-off" different crafts that I have made for gifts. As I make more I will add more to the page, so I hope that you will come back and check in occasionally.

Over the years, as you can imagine, I have given lots of crafts as gifts. It's only been since June when I bought my very first digital camera that I started taking photos. These have all been posted to gather.com.

If you have a lens that highlights crafts that you make for gifts, please add it to the plexo list that I am including.

Quilt for My Mother

I didn't make this quilt. In looking through boxes to clean out my mother's basement for me to move in, I found this old quilt top. It's from the 1940's and was done in the quilting club at our church at that time. There are tons of embroidered names on it, most of which happen to be relatives. I had a lady at church finish it for me as a Christmas gift to my mother.

I enjoy both getting and giving handmade gifts. I crochet cute plush animals for children in the family and one of my favorite handmade gifts I received is a quilted coin purse from my sweet daughter-in-law. She chose a baseball design fabric with a red background to represent my love for the 'Redbirds' -- the St. Louis Cardinals' baseball team, so her thoughtfulness made it extra-special.

I enjoy making homemade gifts too. I also enjoy receiving them. They are some of my most cherished treasures. Btw, I love that bee! I think the eyes and mouth are perfect.

You sound like my kind of crafter, into everything. Great job on the plastic canvas furniture. I know it's not the easiest. I built the American School Of Needlework Doll House. What a chore!! Best of luck with all your crafts. I'm sure they will be enjoyed.

OMG, Marsha - that barbie doll furniture is fantastic. What a clever idea - you could do a whole how to lens on each piece. Heck, I want the whole set and I don't even have grandkids. Too cool!

Lots of cool projects. I love giving crafts as gifts--especially quilts! :)

Love that table runner, Marsha! And what a find that old quilt was and a great gift idea for your Mother. I have always loved receiving hand made gifts; they mean so much more than store bought. And I've generally always given gifts that I made myself; now, of course, it's one of my poems on one of my designs.

    Marsha,
the quilt you made for your mother is absolutely beautiful!

Nice gifts! You did a wonderful job on the plastic canvas furniture. I bet your granddaughter loved it. The bee is adorable too.

Now that I am an adult, I cherish the handmade gifts my grandmother made me. Since I do a lot of crafting myself, I realize how much love she put into those gifts. Your grandchildren are so fortunate to have such a wonderful grandmother to make things for them!

Wonderful ideas for gifting anytime. Just that you need time-use public library computers-hard to find the time to do anything much!
  • my_never_bored_hands Nov 13, 2010 @ 5:18 pm | delete
I don't received them much, except those from my kids which I'm receiving daily :) But I'm love to create stuff for my friends and family... it was tradition in my family, so I'm used to create presents for others. I like this lens a lot, well done.

I used to make crafts as gifts all the time but somehow have gotten away from it. This lens makes me want to start doing that again.
