Although our goal with article promotion is two fold, we must never let the desire to increase search position override the fact that articles need to be written for real people. Your readers will often be in search of information that they need, not reading your articles for enjoyment. While you want them to enjoy your article, it is important that the article quickly gets to the point. You can include personal stories and anecdotes, but don't let them overrun your article. Be concise and to the point.
When writing your article, you may find that you want to expand on some of the points that you are making. This is a good subject for a separate article. Write an article that expands on that point and post it on your own website. In this manner you can create the desire to follow the trail of information which leads back to your website. Those readers who are interested in the expanded information will click through and read your other article. Those who are not interested will continue reading the current article without the distraction of things that do not matter to them.
