Writing Prompts

• Start a story with "This I believe..." Using this beginning, write about anything you feel very strongly about and are very opinionated on. The topic can be anything and everything.
• Pick anybody and throw them in jail. It can be an enemy from school, or just someone you'd find entertaining being stuck there. Try and write what it would be like as this person goes to jail.
• Either create a title and write a piece around the title, or pull a title from another author and try and write your own story using that title. Your story can be completely different from the one you borrow the title from, just use the title as inspiration. Trying to figure out your own meaning behind a title can be a great inspiration.
• Try and describe a person without ever referring to any physical characteristics.
• Begin a story with: Every day the sun rises and every night it falls again.
• Put somebody in jail. It can be an enemy from school, or it could be someone you think would be entertaining to have in jail. What if you put Homer Simpson in jail? Or maybe the Grim Reaper? You can also do the school bully or anything else that piques your interest.
