With the Gypsy Cricut you can take the entire Cricut cartridge library with you on the go. Here are just a few things this little hand held design studio can do.

Show all your images without the use of a manual or a keypad overlay. Search images by keyword. See cartridge images on the Gypsy, even if you have not linked them to the Gypsy because you haven't bought them yet.

Open existing saved designs as templates. Change image properties, rotate, flip, weld and share files with the Cricut Design Studio software.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and answers about the Provo Craft Gypsy.

1. Is the Gypsy compatible with all Cricut machines? Yes. Before you can cut your design, you will need to connect the Gypsy to your Cricut machine. Use the connector cable that came with the Gypsy. Plug the cable into the USB port on the back of your cutter and the other end of the cable into the top of the Gypsy.

2. Does the Gypsy come preloaded with previews of all the cartridges? Yes. While the Gypsy will contain all cartridges and allow you to design with them, you will be able to cut with only those cartridges you have purchased and linked to your Gypsy

3. Does the Gypsy come with any cartridges? Yes, two, Gypsy Font and Gypsy Wanderings. They come preloaded on the software, thephysicalcartidges are not included.

4. How many cartridges will the Gypsy hold? The Gypsy can store up to 7,000 cartridges and up to 10,000 of your own custom projects.

5. Are the Gypsy and the Design Studio compatible? Yes. Files saved with Cricut DesignStudio can be opened in the Cricut Gypsy and vise versa. Even though they do not share the same features, files can be shared.

6. What is linking and how do I link cartridges to the Gypsy? Linking is simple and needs to be done only once per cartridge. Using the Cartridge Link Cable that comes with Gypsy, connect your cartridges to the Gypsy one at a time and link them to the Gypsy. The act of linking allows you to cut all the artwork from linked cartridges from your Gypsy without having to connect the cartridge again to the Gypsy or your Cricket cutter. It also allows you to cut the cartridge's content on a Cricket machine without the cartridge being present.

7. How do I link cartridges? Just connect the link cable that came with the Gypsy into both the Gypsy and the cartridge. Turn on the Gypsy. Click on either the Cricut application button or the main menu look for the link cartridge button click on it and wait for the display to say the linking operation is complete.

8. Can I share cartridges with other Cricut Gypsy owners? No. You can only link cartridges to one Gypsy because of the unique serial number that is copied to the cartridge preventing it from being linked to another Gypsy.

9. Once I link the cartridge to the Provo Craft Gypsy will it still work with my Cricut cutting machine? Yes. The cartridge will continue to work in all of your Cricut products.

Once you have linked the necessary cartridges to the Gypsy and connected the Gypsy to your Cricket cutting machine, you are ready to begin cutting. here are some things you can do with your Gypsy cricut. You can preview cartridges you do not have yet, an excellent way to see before you buy just whats on the cartridge. You can also weld images together to make new Cricut designs, weld letters together to make words and phrases. You can even change the image properties to rotate or flip.

Save your layouts you have been working on and reload them to continue your design process, you never loose your work. You can also create digital layouts of the images before you cut them.

Open existing saved designs as templates that you can then use as a basis to create new designs. Share templates with other Gypsy users or with Design Studio.

Updating The Gypsy Is Important

Provo Craft will release updates to the Gypsy. It will automatically add this new content to your Gypsy cartridge library so you can preview it and design with it. You will need a computer with an Internet connection to update the Gypsy.

Download and install either the PC or Mac Gypsy Sync Software. Connect the Gypsy to your computer using the computer connector cable. Run the sync software.
