Crop Circles: Man Made or Extraterrestrial

Wiltshire, England - a place where numerous large farms loom side by side. You could find almost any agricultural crop bountiful in this place. But aside from hectares of wheat, barley, corn or rice plantation there is another thing that is widely known in this area - crop circles.

Crop circles are geometric artworks found in crop fields. Farmers usually wakeup in the morning to find circular and geometric patterns etched on a portion of their crop farm. There are a lot of mysteries behind these patterns. Who made them and how? What is the objective behind such creation?

Mysterious Formations
Crop circle incidents dates back as early as the 17th century. These formations are not only to be found in England but also in countries like Australia, USA, India, Canada and even Japan. But a good percentage of crop circle formation could be found in Wiltshire in England. The formation usually appears overnight during the months ideal for crop growing. Some eyewitnesses claim to have heard some strange noise and dancing lights on the area the night before the appearance of a crop circle. Some even swears seeing some extraterrestrial creatures during the night.

Crop circles have certain mysterious characteristics which make them subjects of intrigue and baffling speculations. For one, they are so perfectly made and every detail is mathematically accurate. The crops are not harmed in the creation of crop circles. They are just bowed to the ground just like when a strong wind hits the plantation. Aside from this, no evidence or tracks could be found in the area which might point to where the circle makers came from, who they are and what equipments were used. Scientists also notice traces of strong magnetic field in the area of crop circles.

Crop Circle Theories and Makers
There are a number of people who have claimed responsible for making crop circles. It was shown that the circles are done using a plank of wood attached to a length of rope. One man serves as the center of the circle while another one creates the circle. But the mystery does not end here. Although circle makers claim the responsibility of making hundreds of crop circles, not all crop circle creation could be accounted for as man made. There are hundreds of designs that nobody has claimed responsibility yet. Others are so intricately designed that nobody could discern whether they are humanly possible.

Aside from being a human creation, the second most popular belief is that crop circles are created by aliens to send a message to humankind. Some also say that they are imprints left by UFO's landing on the field. Scientist also offered some theories on the matter. One would be that crop circles are brought about by swirling winds or vortices which are common in areas in England where crop circles are usually found. Another theory would be the electromagnetic radiation coming from the earth causing the crops to bend down.
