Cure Anxiety Attacks - Tips And Advice

Panic and Anxiety Attacks are a most uncomfortable - painful - frightening thing to suffer! You need to cure anxiety attacks because they can be terrifying - one of the worst feelings imaginable. I have had a number of attacks on a number of issues, one of which was public speaking. The prospect of making a speech used to fill me with dread even though I apparently was good at it. Classic irrational behavior don't you think?CURE ANXIETY ATTACKS The picture above is me going into meltdown! About two years ago I started getting the dreaded yips on chip shots playing golf. If I missed a green I would immediately start thinking about the chip shot and how I was going to mess it up. I could even visualise the bad shot. Try dealing with that when you have loads of people watching and your game is the crunch game. Breaking out into a sweat was the least of my problems. When I look at the problem now it is clear that the process for all is the same. The brain is on a loop and you are basically reliving something that happened previously. Until I broke the cycle nothing was going to improve. The Panic Away program does exactly this. However before I tell you about The Panic Away program and how it can help you stop anxiety attacks have a read below. Different Techniques That Can Help Avoid, Lessen or Cure Anxiety Attacks

Deep Breathing

This is a well known way of relaxing yourself. It only takes a minute and really helps.

Here we go...

  • Stand up straight and tall, without strain, as if you were going to start a yoga session. ( I shall be writing another lens on the benefits of studies such as yoga.)
Close your eyes and take a deep breath through your nose. Deeeeep - and slowwww - all the way in - and release it slowly through your pursed lips all the way out.

  • GOOD POSTURE IS NOT FORCED

  • Once more - another deep, deep breath - in through your nose - count up to 8... - stand straight and tall so you can fill your lungs all the way to the bottom of your diaphragm - and very slowly, very gently - out through your pursed lips as you count down from 8...

  • Close your eyes, relax your muscles and allow the tension to leave your body. Feel the way you are balanced. When I do this I get a great feeling of safety, as if my center has wrapped itself around me.

  • Roll your shoulders back, once again making yourself straight and tall and one more deeeeep breath - in through your nose and out slowly and gently through your pursed lips. And relax your muscles.

How do you feel?
Hopefully you will feel calmer, more relaxed and at peace with yourself. This is, after all, about you and finding peace rather than anxiety. Why not stop for a moment and try this now; see how you get on. You don't have to be having an anxiety attack to do this! You should do this regularly as part of your daily routine.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

I have had the pleasure of experiencing this also and I found it an extremely positive experience. A type of psychotherapy that focuses on changing unproductive thought patterns, it is generally a problem-solving based program designed to initiate a more positive attitude. Basically, It said to me: "negative thoughts create negative feelings create negative outcomes."

Here is a very simple example of what I was asked to do to help rational thinking, problem solving and create positive attitudes.

My goal might be to give up smoking ( which I did successfully nearly seven years ago. )

GOAL:___________________________

Action Plan ¦ Time To Begin ¦ Possible Problems ¦ Strategies To Overcome Problems ¦ Progress

  • Reduce no.of cigarettes by 10% each day until zero.

  • Start on 01/04/2009

  • Nicotine cravings creating anxiety, lack of concentration, irritability.

  • Use nicotine patches, start regular yoga sessions and relaxation techniques, affirm that I am a non-smoker.

  • Managed not to smoke for the first week. Feeling slightly edgy! and have snapped a few heads off but I feel calmer after my breathing exercises. It is nice not to have to worry about smelling of smoke etc.

This would be placed in the columns as laid out above.

As I said, I have found this very beneficial and am still surprised by my thinking sometimes, as it is so radical from before. I would strongly suggest that you do not try do it yourself as the guidance of a professional is always beneficial as, tailoring everything to you personally.

Another One....To Cure Anxiety Attacks

Hypnotherapy

This involves re-programming your psyche to get to the cause of your fears and overcome them.

You can either see a therapist or try a self-hypnosis audio course which would be less expensive. I haven't tried this but I have heard good reports.

My recommendations To Cure Anxiety Attacks

As you might have guessed I am a fan of an holistic approach and behavioral therapy because you get multiple benefits from techniques such as yoga and specialised breathing, and having a more positive outlook can only be a good thing. You can also go deeper to find out why you behave the way you do and I find that fascinating.

However if you are looking for an answer to help you get off to a flying start Panic Away has fantastic reviews. Panic Away teaches a technique that allows you to break the cycle of anxiety. It has a great reputation earned over a no. of years, along with numerous testimonials. Rather than going into a lengthy dissertation on its merits check out the website. With an eight week guarantee you have nothing to lose and all to gain.

Remember what you are trying to achieve.
