My review, in a nutshell

I like Cytoport Monster Milk because it mixes quick and easily and contains fast and slow release proteins in addition to a heap of essential amino acids, free form BCAAs, and glutamine which is important for building muscle.

I have been using MRI Pro-NOS and CytoSport Muscle Milk and think a change is good, so I decided to try the new Monster Milk. I have noticed a difference in my training. I believe the MRI Pro-NOS and the Muscle Milk are very good products, but when and if you get a chance to try the Monster Milk, I think you will come to the same conclusion. It's a great product.

My Review of CytoSport Monster Milk

Here is how to make a great Monster Milk Shake

Low down on the Monster Milk Protein Shake.

I used 1 cup of milk, and 1/2 serving, which is a sample packet, of Monster Milk, and blended it with ice (A drinking cup full worth). I also included 1/2 cup of Ground Oats

Do I like this Flavor?
-Yes, I do like Chocolate flavored protein powders. And I have tried Cytosport's Chocolate Muscle Milk and found it decent at best.

Profile
-8.5/10. It has a nice profile. I am a HUGE fan of Milk Protein Isolate, which is its first ingredient. It's form of whey is also Isolate, so that's good. Im not a fan of Calcium Sodium Caseinate though. Monster Milk also contains many goodies such as it's Lactose Free, contains 22.5g of EAAs, 11.8g of BCAAs, 13g of Glutamine, and 500mg of Aminogen. A major set back in Monster Milk's profile is the addition of Glycocyamine. Glycocyamine is known to increase our blood levels of homocysteine, which is thought to be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. This means that we're more likely to have heart disease/atherosclerosis when our homocysteine levels are high. Im not sure why they included this form of creatine in Monster Milk.

Smell
-9/10. Smelled mostly like Chocolate cytosport muscle milk. Was a very chocolaty smell.

Ease of Mixing
-10/10. Wow, I used my pulse setting on my blender for less than a second just to mix it before I added my ice, and it was already COMPLETELY blended. No clumps or buildup on the sides of the blender at all.

Texture
-10/10. This was absolutely perfect to my liking. I made it into a milkshake or frosty texture. Couldn't have gotten it better. For those who do not like thick or dense shakes though, and prefer a very light consistency, you may not like it.

Taste
-9.5/10. This is a great tasting protein. Tastes almost like Chocolate Muscle Milk, but with a more chemically enhanced flavor, which I actually found appealing somehow! It's a very deep, and artificially tasting protein, but you will not be disappointed.

Overall
-9.25/10. It's a great tasting protein, has the wonderful addition of Milk Protein Isolate, and is loaded with things such as Aminogen, BCAAs, EAAs, and Lean Lipids.

Will I be buying this flavor?
- I would like to try Vanilla.

CytoSport Monster Milk in the news

I think CytoSport has come out with an awesome protein product, CytoSport Monster Milk, stacked with essential amino acids and glutamine. People are demanding more out of their protein nowadays and companies such as CytoSport, MRI, MuscleTech and Muscle Asylum Project have addressed this point.

Don't forget, CytoSport Monster Milk is competing with it's flagship protein product cytosport muscle milk, so it is pretty tough competition. In particular as a retailer, I love the taste of cytosport muscle milk, so it is hard to not sell Muscle Milk in favour of another protein product, if you get my drift.

At 350 calories and 50g of protein per 2 scoops, this isn't a gainer nor a meal replacement but a pre-workout BOMB that's bound to cover all the bases. Although you can take it prior to sleeping. It's lower in carbohydrates with only 18g per serving than it's other brothers in the protein line. 50g of protein makes this one way to get a fair percentage of your daily protein in a typical, best of breed when it comes to taste, protein shake.

Of course you'll get plenty of aminos and a Monster Milk Creatine Matrix to boot.

There's way less fat at 9g than your Muscle Milk shakes. Monster Milk doesn't appear to share that precise make up of it's Muscle Milk brother.

5g of fiber?! In recent food shows, adding fiber to sports supplements is the rage. Many faithful bodybuilders who have plenty of fruits and veggies don't have issues with fiber, but so many people do that adding 20% of your daily allowance without any negative side effects or ill tastes, sure is a good idea.
