Death From Above 1979. Never heard of them? Then listen up. This indie/dance/funk/synth rock duo rocked the boat with their 2002 EP release Heads Up!, but rocked the music world with their 2004 full-length release, You're A Woman, I'm a Machine. Best of all, they managed to do it with a two-man project. Vocals, drums, synth and bass.

But all good things must come to an end. On August 3rd, 2006, Jesse F. Keeler let the world know, through the band's official forum, that DFA1979 was defunct, and had been for some time.

However, they left behind quite a catalog for us all to peruse, draw inspiration from, and to make us all happy giddy inside...

In the famous words of CSS "Let's make love and listen to Death From Above". Enjoy.

Welcome to the DFA1979 Lens

Thanks much, hope you like the lens (and the band).

Review snips and comment clips

"This is your album--whether you're a metalhead, suburban stoner, glue-sniffing gutter punk, electroclash fashionista, new wave spazz, hoodie skate-rat, indie rock academic, geriatric Deep Purple fan, or whether you've just been jonesin' for an intelligent, uncompromising but accessible rock record to rival Queens Of The Stone Age's 'Songs For The Deaf' or the first Foo Fighters album" -Amazon.com Editor Review
