DIY Website Student

Ranked #8,202 in Squidoo Community, #508,660 overall

Hello, My name is Gina Jones and I am a DIY Website Student. I have a sales background and decided to extend part of my business to the Internet,
DOING IT ALL MYSELF! .

From designing and controlling my own websites through to making successful electronic sales. I experienced many pitfalls along the way and hope to guide others through my personal experiences.

It always helps to read about how other people got started, you can save money and time by learning from their trial and error experiences, which can be very time consuming. As a newcomer to Website Design, I know how daunting a task it can be to start from scratch!

Where is the best place to start?

  • Learn the basics of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language)

  • Learn CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)

  • Once you have this fundamental knowledge in place, you will be able to design and style a basic website, promise! It is not a waste of time, this knowledge will lay the foundation for any other programming language or webdesign application you may want to learn later.

I also recommend that you do not spend any money on expensive courses or materials in the beginning. You need to find your feet, avoid being swept away by hype and above all, resist spending money on offers that sound too good to be true.

There are many good, free tutorials that cover these subjects available on the Internet,
    for instance :

    Recommended Books

You could also just invest in a good book. The Books listed below were written specially for begginers. They are reasonably priced, great value for money.
