Perfect Miniatures For Your Display
This is another lens which grew from the original I started for Deb Jackson's miniatures.
In this lens I'll place some of Deb's complete settings which are suitable not only for dollhouses but also for room boxes or even to display on a shelf with other 1:12 scale models.
I could never hope to show all of Deb's creations, you'll find more on her website and also on the CDHM website.
I hope you enjoy viewing Debra's artwork. The most perfect dollhouse miniatures.
The criteria I used to decide what to include in this lens was - what could stand alone in a display?
12th scale Parfumerie de Madame Frou-Frou.

12th scale miniature
Handmade in The British Isles by Debra.
Simply stunning! Totally handcrafted and unique this beautiful item would make an outstanding addition to a 12th scale dolls' house shop and the perfect centre piece around which to create and add to; inspirational for a room box.

The counter and vial stand were made by the highly talented Angela Downton - check out her items on eBay id amd5758.

The shelf to the rear was a piece Debra acquired from eBay and has customised with paint and very detailed dainty brass handles. Fifteen unique and highly detailed bottles line the shelves, they are fixed in place.

On the counter is a selection of perfume making pieces, selected vials on a silver tray, a large glass mixing flask with stirrer and contents and lots more jars and containers.

There is also a writing pad, with perfume recipe and order and delightful and incredibly detailed fountain pen-with removable lid and a also pencil.

The vial stand holds a selection of brass vials, with brass tops all with an individual letter label. The drawer is functioning but empty as with the one on the shelf. Height of counter- 3" ,width- 5 1/4".Height of shelf- 2 3/4",width-2 1/2".
The Gamekeeper's Shed
... on www.debjacksondesigns.com
This delightful piece was inspired by [Deb's] Granddad Jim. Although not a game keeper (he was a gardener) he had a keen sense for nature...with a rather no-nonsense approach! The shed is entirely handcrafted and populated by [Debra].

The outside is weathered and worn with moss on the roof and an algaeic tinge to the vertical wooden panels which make up the exterior. The door is fixed in place, as the front opens to access the interior. The sign on the door announces the shed as "Keeper's Rest",it is padlocked and bolted.

The interior is furnished with a large assortment of items. To the left is and aged desk and shelf, with worn stool. In the same corner is a little black, pot-bellied stove, whose pipe goes through the roof and can be seen from outside with a little rain cover. An opening leather strapped fishing creel stands under the desk and it's accompanying rod and fly case are by the stove and on the desk respectively.

Two shelves at the back hold a variety of items-2 poison bottles,3 traps of varying size, a clear bottle of liquid and 2 pots, an empty wooden box, a basket, pot and bottle and finally 2 rolls of wire. On the floor are 2 old metal containers of seed, a basket and a piece of net. The right hand side has a rusty man-trap, spherical rat trap and an oil lamp all hanging on a line of nails.

Next to the door is a rack of pipes and a wedding photograph. Further items on the desk are a functioning pen knife, candle and holder, another oil lamp, a boxed compass (which can be removed),wooden pot with 2 pieces of printed paper and finally in a tiny lidded box, the top removes to reveal the cheekiest, if not the bravest mouse ever!
Although this is being sold as a finished piece I like to think there is enough scope for someone to personalise it further.......perhaps a tea pot, cup and saucer? or a hat? or even a double barrelled shot-gun! All the items (except photo's and pipe rack) can be removed to rearrange as you wish.

Width 8 1/2",front height 5 1/2",height at the back 6 1/4" and depth 4 1/4".
24th scale Gypsy Caravan
24th scale is 1:24 or ½ inch scale.

Although at 24th scale makes this piece seem only suitable for displaying with other items of this size it could also be used as a toy, for the children of very wealthy 12th scale parents. The colours of this piece, both inside and out tone beautifully. The door opens to reveal the delightful interior, it has a display cupboard, with ornaments, tiled back cooking range with pots, table, seat and separate sleeping area with mattress. The roof can be removed to provide access to the interior.

This picture shows the decorative corner cupboard and seat.

The delightful sleeping area, complete with comfy mattress!
Shoemaker's Workbench
This and other 12th scale miniatures now available on Debra's website

12th scale potter's wheel..

Handmade in The British Isles by Debra.
This would make an excellent basis for the construction of an artist's studio. Perfect for a room box, spare room and especially the attic or basement.
It stands 4 3/4" high,3 1/2" wide and 5" deep, including the projection of the seat. There is a treadle style pedal under the traditional straddle seat. On the shelves are a selection of tools and pots, these are all fixed in place.

Miniature nativity. Unique artist piece.
A stunning miniature Nativity scene for the 12th scale or smaller dollhouse.

1144th scale miniature
Handmade in The British Isles by Debra.
Absolutely adorable, this miniature nativity scene would make a fantastic addition to any Christmas scene.

Approximately 1 1/2" square it consists of hand-carved Mary-kneeling and praying, Joseph standing next to her carrying a shepherds' crook and baby Jesus in a straw lined manger.
The front apex of the stable has a pretty gold and silver star.

Dolls' house exquisite lady's vanity box

Although this is in itself a very small item, I feel it belongs here because it is the most complete vanity set I have seen in such a small scale and with so many removeable parts.
This totally opulent and exquisite item would grace the interior of any dolls' house.
Yet again the wonderful Angela Downton provided the unfinished box...check out her items on ebay id. amd5758,always worth a peep! The box is a riot of blues and gold, with delightful little carrying chain, attached to the box via the golden dragonfly decals. There is also a dragonfly on the top, surrounded by filigree, gold, metalwork "corners".

The inside is decorated with William Morris design.
The lid holds a brush and comb, kept in place by tiny chains.

The entire inside is compartmented to hold the individual items. On the front edge are 3 delightfully detailed perfume bottles, which are designed to lie down when out of the box. Opposite the bottles a shelf holds a powder compact (hinged), 2 further containers(non functioning) and an opening brass box which contains 2 beautifully detailed hair combs and a brooch,(these are fixed in place).

The shelf on which these stand can be removed and underneath there is a gold trinket pot and hair receiver-these can both be removed and the lids taken off.

It is almost a 1" cube.
The photographs do not do this piece justice.
This item can also be seen in several of the photos here.

12th scale exquisite egg collection
The handles are Chippendale style and are fully functioning along with the drawers.
Inside 2 of the drawers is a truly lovely selection of "birds' eggs". The top drawer has a tiny glass jar with lid for depositing the insides of the blown egg, a highly decorative jewelled needle to pierce the ends of the shells and 2 pencils.
Although the eggs are stuck to the aged wadding underneath they can be removed (should you wish to fill the drawers with your own collection).

Chatelaine shelf, incredible detail with vanity box.
12th scale miniature.
Handmade in The British Isles by Debra.
Width of shelf- 2" ,Length of chatelaine 2 1/2".

This beautiful and totally unique item would make a welcome addition to any 12th scale dolls' house. Although probably best suited to Victorian it could also fit an upper class Tudor house, due to the intricacy of the vanity box.
The shelf has very pretty and highly detailed brass fretwork supports to both sides. Sitting on it there is a bible, leather covered with a brass cross on the front, the pages of which are blank.
Next is a tiny cloisonné box, a gift from the lady of the house to her favourite servant perhaps? Inside, in the lid is a selection of manicure items-all of which can be removed.
In the base is a cologne bottle, this too can be removed.
Next is a brass pin tray, with 3 pins and a tiny lidded brass vial (these are all stuck in place). The final item on the top is a candle holder with candle, which has a burned wick. The underside of the shelf has 2 pegs from which a highly detailed chatelaine hangs.
Chatelaines were belts worn from medieval times to Victorian. Some worn more for decorative effect, some for more practical reasons, this is a mix of the two. It is fastened by a solid silver clasp and the waist chain could be altered to fit a specific doll.
The items hanging from it are-a pretty little brass cross, religious items always very popular, a "jet" jewel hanging suggesting the person had been in mourning. Then we have 2 sweet little pomanders, regular bathing being a recent habit these would have been essential and finally two practical items. The first is an incredibly detailed pair of functioning brass scissors and the other a tiny eye glass.
Little Missy Mousie
This is Missy Mousie and, yes, that is a 5 pence piece she is standing on with her table.Caught here in the middle of icing the Christmas cake with the very fine knife in her hand, it's clear she has more baking planned from the bun tray, eggs etc on her table.
Standing on top of this 5p she is still only half an inch tall.
Missy Mousie is in my own private collection.
Unfortunately, it's really difficult to get a totally clear picture without a decent tripod so you'll have to forgive the quality of the images. If I can get clearer pics I will replace these.
I've included an ordinary 2nd class UK postage stamp in this picture as the standard British stamp may be more familiar to people outside the UK than our ridiculously small 5p pieces.

Tudor or medieval weaving loom.12th scale.
Perfect for a grand Tudor house, as the centrepiece for a work room and equally for a shop or artisan's house, the loom stands 4 3/4" high,4 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" long.
The height of the work area is 2",to reflect both the height of the seat used and the fact that the Tudors were considerably shorter than us!
