The Safe Harbors Child Abuse Prevention Education "SCAPE" Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating adults about the prevalence and prevention of child sexual abuse.We wholeheartedly believe in the importance of empowering adults to protect our children from the life-long pain and shame of abuse.
Child sexual abuse is an urgent problem that causes immense damage, especially in children who receive no recovery support and remain silenced. One in four girls and one in six boys is sexually abused before his or her 18th birthday.
Statistics are conservative because only 1 in 10 abused children reports the abuse - further proof that we need to be open and communicative with the children around us.
Childhood Sexual Abuse must be stopped! It leaves scars and ruins far too many lives around the world. Our website keeps growing as we add new information and opportunities for interaction, so please check out our newsletter, blog, and other reading and discussion outlets often.
