DaWanda - Your Complete Guide to Buying & Selling on DaWanda.
Ranked #11,694 in Shopping, #104,296 overall
A New Craft Shopping Experience!
I have just opened my first DaWanda store and I am very excited to share the DaWanda experience with you. I already have squidoo lens' at guide to buying and selling crafts on ebay, complete guide to buying and selling on Etsy and free websites at fusiveweb and thought this was a nice expansion to my Lens group!
So what do I sell on DaWanda... I have started with jewellery and accessories and staying true to my love of texture I opened with eight unique items. I am hoping to add to these as time goes on by exploring more textile based products.
I came across DaWanda through MySpace where I was invited by a fellow crafter to take a look around the store and join as a seller. Needless to say I didn't need any further promting once I saw the site and joined on the spot! I really do recommend a visit dawanda.com
like my other lenses I would like this to be an interactive site, so wannabe DaWanda users and DaWanda shops come in and take part. I would love for you to join me...
If you wish to join Squidoo, here is my referal address Saras_Texture_Crafts

So what is DaWanda and what can I buy there?
DaWanda is a site based in Berlin, Germany and they state 'Dawanda is the online marketplace where those who love uniqueness meet people with a passion to create.' What does this mean? Well it means that each seller has spent time hand crafting and hand making each item and has put passion and love into each item. This site is perfect for buying gifts for friends and family, or even that little 'pay-day' purchase! The site offers ecure on-line purchase and supports payment by Paypal. I will explore Paypal in the next section.
I have found the DaWanda site to be very easy to use and there are several ways in which you can search for your gift ideas.
1 - By catagory.
2 - By colour on the Coloranda, which is great if you have something in mind already.
3 - By Seller.
4 - Keywords.
5 - Technique - for example photo.
6 - By new product.
7 - By new shop.
8 - By featured item.
9 - Pinboards - surf other DaWanda sellers favourites.
10 - Trends - shop by DaWanda's trend information, from popular items, to popular sellers.
11 - Style Lab - your way to buy your own commissioned pieces.
Paypal? What is Paypal?
I have always found Paypal easy to use as both a seller and a customer of on-line stores. As a payment system it's popularity is growing day by day and is widely used on both larger forums, such as Boots, eBay, Etsy and DaWanda to smaller business websites. I would recommend Paypal as a quick and reliable banking system.Paypal describe their service as (direct quote)
Founded in 1998, PayPal enables any business or consumer with an email address to securely, conveniently and cost-effectively send and receive payments online. Our network builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and credit cards to create a global, real-time payment solution.
PayPal has quickly become the leading payment network for online auction websites, including eBay. With over 100 million account members worldwide PayPal is also being increasingly used at other e-commerce sites. Users can send payments for free via their PCs or web-enabled mobile phones.

How to create a DaWanda Pinboard
1 - Log in and go to My DaWanda.2 - Press My Pinboards and you will find that one has been already set up for you by DaWanda. If you had previous saved favourite items these will show up here.
3 - Give your pinboard a name - At the top of your board is an editable section... You can change the title and leave a message.
If you had items already stored, they will show up below... each will be in it's own box and you can add comments that you would like to share. You can also delete (remove from pinboard), add to basket or forward any items to your friends.
4 - Adding a new item to your pinboard - as you are browsing through the site and look at any item in more detail you will find in the top section that you can give an item a heart, add to pinboard, or forward to a friend. Select add to pinboard and choose which board you wish to add it to. You can also add a comment here... this will be visible on your pinboard once saved.
5 - Creating a new pinboard - When you find a new item and select add to pinboard you can choose to add to an existing board or a new one. Select a new one and give it a name.
6 - Comment on other people's boards - there is an area at the bottom of each board for comments from viewers...
Viewers can also buy from these boards, so it could work out in our favour to get some really great theme boards together.
