A Little About the Show

The central character in Dallas is J.R. Ewing an oil baron who is greedy and always scheming. Although not the original focus of the show, J.R. proved to be so popular, he stole the show. Creator David Jacobs created Dallas, a show based on the glitz and glamour of the oil business. In the beginning the show Dallas was shot in Texas with exterior locations shot at South Fork Ranch. Later in the series, because of costs, the series moved to California.

J.R. Ewing, played to perfection by Larry Hagman was the eldest Ewing son of Ellie and Jock Ewing. J.R. was ruthless in business and not much better in his personal life as he had many extra marital affairs while married to Sue Ellen. J.R. had great adversary in Cliff Barnes, brother of his sister-in-law Pam. The characters of J.R. and Cliff were the only two Dallas characters that were in the show for the entire run.
