Can people learn to care about animals?
I am writing this because I feel it is important for people to learn that animals are people too and need to be treated as such. I lost my little dog Tina two months ago and wrote this due to feeling very lonesome.
I have been missing my Tina and have been looking on the internet for dogs who are in need of a home. If you're looking for a new pet you can find any pet at Petfinders.com. A lot of the dogs that are for adoption are dogs that have been rescued from puppy mills and have never had a kind word spoken to them or been held or petted or anything. I can't believe that people are so cruel but it shouldn't come as a surprise as the world is full of self-absorbed, selfish people who care for nothing or no one but themselves.
I have been told that people don't realize that animals have feelings and get cold or hot or heartbroken just like them. These animals are living, breathing entities and deserve as much consideration as you would give to a person. If you are cold - they are cold - if you are hot - they are hot. Get real and use common sense.
I know that they say don't buy from a pet store as they get their dogs from these puppy mills - but what happens to them if they aren't sold - Do they have to go back to the awful place they w ere born and live the life that no one should be subjected to? What is the right thing to do - I don't know but can only hope that things change.
Just venting as I get so disgusted that I need to let it out. If you care go to the Petfinders website and either adopt or sponsor a dog, cat or other animal. It will do your heart good........ Done venting!
Animals are People Too!!!!
People need to start caring about their pets and stop acting like they are just a possession, like a purse, a car, a pair of shoes, etc. They are living, breathing entities. They need love, attention, care and everything that a person needs. They are your responsibility - start acting responsibility.
Please be kind.....

I think you're off to a good, empassioned start here. But how about including some resources and more info for how people could really help? Having you also considered having this lens donate to one of the animal charities that Squidoo supports? Posted July 16, 2008 |
