An Introduction To Dark RO Pie
Pie; The Low Rate Server
The low rate (Pie) is just like the original Ragnarok Online p2p server but with quite a few perks. There are several @commands available to the player that are not available on iRO. (To see all the available commands, type @command when you are logged in the game)The rate of pie is 6x/6x/6x which means it gives 6 times more in base exp/job exp/drop rate than the p2p server. This server is being maintained and run as close as possible to the p2p server of kRO.
This server features all the classes and jobs available, including Taekwon, Taekwon Master, Gunslinger, Ninja, and Soul Linker.
All available quests, maps, and items from kRO and kSakray are on this server. There are also quests, maps, and items available and unique only to the Pie server.

An Introduction to Dark RO Force
Dark RO Force; The High Rate Server
The high rate server, also known as Force, is the most popular (and in my opinion, the best) among the two servers of Dark RO. Making and leveling a character on this server is incredibly fast and easy even if one is a n00bie.This server is packed with fun but it can cause some major headaches from time to time. Don't say I didn't warn you. There are a few players that cause trouble from time to time and some quests are a little difficult. PvP and WoEs can be a challenge. But is it worth it? Abso-frikin-lutely. The boos cannot amount to the fun. Afterall, if everything is easy and perfect, it would be boring.
All classes, jobs, items, maps, and quests are available on this server, including the Star Wars classes unique only here at Dark RO Force. The server features complete new custom Star Wars classes and was officially opened to the public on January 23rd of 2006 after a Beta-Phase period.
There are a lot more fun and perks on this server than the p2p or Pie server (or any server for that matter). There are a lot of unique quests, more @commands, customized leveling maps, customized rooms, customized items, and more!
There is one catch though... It's a player vs player (pvp) server. But this server is just so awesome that you can turn off your "pk state". To do this, you must be in a town map and type @pk. This will disable your pk state - player killable state - and other players can no longer attack you when you are leveling or in the mvp room.

Where and How to Download DarkRO
Due to many (repeated) questions about downloading, installing, and properly running the game, I took it upon myself to break it down. Ya welcome! ;P

1. To get started, make sure you have a folder which has kRO and kSakray downloaded, installed in, and has all the stuff. iRO will not work. You will receive errors every time you go into a map you don't have the file for or if someone is wearing something you don't have the file for and therefore cannot recognize.
Cannot recognize = errors = you don't want.
Again, only kRO and kSakray will work and both should be downloaded and installed in one folder.
Here is where you can download the kRO and kSakray (scroll down and you'll see it):
http://dark-ro.net/downloads.php
Update (July 17, 2009): If those links don't work, go on to these websites and download the newest version of kRO and kSakray:
http://ragray.net/
http://ratemyserver.net/index.php?page=download_kROLinks
Update (March 4, 2012): If NONE of those work, try this:
http://www.sendspace.com/folder/3h9sy6
I repeat, if those links don't work, try the updated links! Don't tell me you need help unless you tried all the links provided here. Thanks.
If the links don't work or are too slow, go to http://www.filemirrors.com and do a search for "rag_setup" and "sak_setup" and choose version 0325 (The latest)
Once you've finished downloading and installing, run kRO then the kSakray patcher so they can update. There's a little bar that tells you how much progress it's gone. It might take a while since it's the first time patching and updating so please be patient. It can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or so depending on the speed of your internet connection and your computer.
2. Download and install the DarkRO client in the SAME folder as the kRO and kSakray. Run the patcher so it can update and such. It will take a few minutes - about 5 minutes or so. And once it's done, you're ready to play! (Unless you don't have a game account)
So again, kRO, kSakray, and DarkRO should be installed in the same folder.
3. If you don't have a game account yet, register here: http://dark-ro.net/register.php Remember, Pie is a low rate server and closer to iRO. Force is high rate, pk enabled, and is Star Wars themed.
Tips:
If you're having errors while on the game, it means:
-You did not download, install or patched/updated correctly; therefore there are missing files.
-kRO, kSakray, and DarkRO are not in the same folder.
-There has been a change and you need to patch/update - which just means running kRO and Sakray and then the DarkRO updater.
If you can't log in, it means the server might be down. To be sure, check the forums.

Some Things You Might Have Missed or Don't Know About DarkRO

1. You can turn off your PK state by typing @pk This means you cannot attack and cannot be attacked by others. (Only for Force since force is the only pk server between the two)
2. You'll need to validate the e-mail you registered with. Therefore, make sure it's really your e-mail address.
3. The forums have a lot of info and is an excellent way to make friends =)
4. DarkRO Force has tons of things. Custom NPCs, custom items including Naruto hats, custom maps, custom pets, custom jobs (Padawan, Jedi, and Sith), crazy ideas, crazy people, and well, with that it surely will come with some problems. But if you've logged in the game, you know it's crowded and all but people still love it.
5. Pie is a more relaxed server but it's tough to be 1337 since it's low rate. However, it is rarely crowded and even though you're bored to death leveling for months or even years perhaps, you'll make close friends with other players because it is such a small but respectful community.

- This is the official forum of Dark RO. There are many posts that can answer your questions, quest guides, screen shots, guilds, events, and more!
- Official Ragnarok Online Website (p2p)
- This is the p2p server (pay to play). I wouldn't recommend it as you have to pay to play and it's not even worth it. The servers are crowded and support is cruddy. Not all characters, quests, and maps are available on some servers (ie: Global server). Other than that, this website gives good info about the game.

So? Now what?
Well, if you're not on your way to download the game yet, then I guess you need to read more.
Dark RO Force. It's fun, easy to start and understand, entertaining, and there's a lot of people you can meet and be friends with (about 2,000 players online everyday). There are hundreds of things to do; quests, leveling, hunting, mvping, exploring, pvping, etc. WOEs and pvps are intense but fun once you get your groove on. Speaking of getting it on, characters can dance on both of the Dark RO servers. Force is a more internationally diverse server than Pie, although Pie has a lot of other players from all over the world too.Pie, on the other hand, is under populated. The most I've ever seen are 90 players during WOE. It's not a bad thing, in fact, I favor it. Less people to compete with and a lot less chances of lag, scams, or hacks. There is an average of 40-60 people online everyday. Just like the p2p server, it is hard to level and it takes time to get anywhere and get anything worth it. Most people prefer to be able to level faster (trust me, it gets boring hunting the same kind of monster for weeks or even months). Hard work on this server is not my kind of fun but if it's yours, then cheers!
(Ironically, I have one transcendant level 96 char on Pie)
“And if you have time, please check out my other lenses about Rambutan and Baguio City! Thanks mucho!”
