Darth Maul
In the Phantom Menace, Darth Maul was first introduced to Star Wars fans as the Sith apprentice of Darth Sidious as his assassin. Darth Mauls goal was to take revenge against the Jedi for their role in decimating the Sith.
Darth Maul met his demise in a battle vs. Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in the Theed Royal Palace. In this battle, Darth Maul killed Qui-Gon with his double-bladed lightsabre. This enraged Qui-Gon's apprentice, Obi-Wan who ultimately defeated Darth Maul with a surprise swing that cut him in half with Obi-Wan's lightsabre.
