Data Compass

Integrates solutions to logical failure, physical failure and RAID failure supporting file systems of FAT, NTFS, HFS+/HFSX and EXT2(3).

Data Compass standard, data compass premium

Data Compass has two versions: Data compass Standard version without RAID recovery Utility and Data Compass Premium version with RAID recovery solutions.

"Clicking" sound has the following reasons:   Caused by firmware failure; by Head damage or platter scratches; By severe multiple BAD sectors.

Whatever it is, only if the drives with "clicking sounds" are detected in the bios, you can use Data Compass to read the data by jumping the bad sectors, by different read mode(UDMA or PIO mode, Forward or backward read mode). If the drives with "clicking sound" can not be detected in the bios, you need to use our HD Doctor Suite to diagnose to confirm if it's firmware failure or you need to open the hard drive and exchange the head or remove the platters on a donor drive.

Data Compass Supports Data recovery from HDDs that start to produce "clicking" sounds, which may be caused by corruption of sector servo labels or a MHA malfunction. If some heads or surfaces are damaged it is possible (before installation of MHA replacement) to create a copy of data using the remaining good surfaces or drive heads. Data recovery from HDDs with severe multiple BAD sectors, which appear because of platter surface scratch or malfunction or instability of the magnetic head assembly (MHA). "recover data by file" without creating a complete disk image) saving a lot of time.

Data Compass supports all 2.5", 3.5", 1.8" SATA and IDE hard drives with adapters supported. Data Compass  Integrates solutions to logical failure, physical failure and RAID failure supporting file systems of FAT, NTFS, HFS+/HFSX and EXT2(3).

SD Flash Doctor

Flash Doctor supports all Tsop 48 flash drives

Flash data recovery, SD flash Doctor, flash drives

SD flash Doctor: Used to recover data from all NAND-based flash storage devices (SD, SM, MMC, XD, USB Pendrive, MemoryStick, CompactFlash etc.), except those slim cards using non-standard NAND chips, with damaged controller or any other front ends (PCB, etc.).

MAIN PRINCIPLES AND FEATURES OF FLASH DATA RECOVERY FROM THE FLASH STORAGE DEVICES

How to Perform Flash Data Recovery Using SD Flash Doctor

If the flash storage device generates the following problems:

1. Logical problems, such as file system damaged and file deleted.

2. Bad blocks in flash chip; in such case, the flash device can be detected in your system but isn't working properly or its status is unstable.

3. Device can't be detected in your system at all.

4. The flash device can be detected and accessed smoothly, but all data read out is meaningless.

By performing the next steps with the help of SD Flash Doctor kit, it can help you to get the data from it.

1. Unsolder all flash memory chips (if multiple-chips applied) of the device using the soldering station and necessary toolkit.

2. Extract raw data as one file from all flash memory chips (one for each, if multiple-chips applied) with SD Flash Doctor hardware, the Flash Reader.

3. Import all raw data files (if multiple-chips applied) to the Flash Doctor Software, the File Structure Emulator, for analysis operation. In Automatic Mode, utility will automatically do all operations to recover the data, no setting needed at all. If the utility cannot build any suitable file structure model automatically using the algorithm, you can activate the Manual Mode, which allows you to adjust and set all the parameters for the rebuilding process and recover the data by trial and error.

4. Browse the file tree, save files you need to a new location.

HD HPE PRO

Head and platter replacement tool

HD HPE PRO, head replacement

HD HPE PRO: Used to disassemble the disks, exchange heads or remove multiple platters without spacer!

  • Universal-fit hdd repair hardware workbench assures you to operate on your HD on a relatively stable table, making your job easier and more reliable.
  • Pioneer hdd repair hardware platter exchanger maintains the original cylinder status by removing and placing all platters of the drive together, so that allows you to change multiple platters without moving the platters out of alignment with each other which otherwise will result in data corruption.
  • Special hdd repair hardware Actuator Remover assures you to perform easy operation (removal, installation) on the upper magnet of the actuator which is very hard to be removed and put back because of its strong magnetism and it's sensitive and embarrassed position (being very close to both the Head Stack and Media Platter), in case it slips out and touch either of its fragile neighbors during the operations — the consequences will be a disaster.

HD HPE PRO supports all SATA and PATA, 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives.

Seagate Hard Drive Typical Failures
For Seagate Barracuda Series, especially 7200.7, 7200.8, 7200.9 and 7200.10 series, one common problem is with heads! Seagate introduced new technology in this line - special coating for the platters that was supposed to protect magnetic layer. But in fact it caused more problems than protection. Under special conditions this coating starts to flake and tiny bits of this substance stick to the head read/write elements. Reading becomes more and more unstable, the drive starts losing tracks and at some point typical symptoms or bad heads appear - clicking, knocking, sweeping sounds which make the data inaccessible. Usually this problem is solved by disassembling the drive in class 100 clean room and replacing head assembly from matching donor.
Western Digital hard drives typical failures
One of the most common problems Western Digital(WD) hard drives experience is burnt cuircuit board(PCB). WD drives are very vulnerable to overheating, power surges and streaks. Quite often bad power supply unit combined with power streak is usually enough to fry spindle driver chip on the electronics and make the data inaccessible. Should this occur the computer would reboot or shut down completely, you would normally notice acrid smell of smoke coming from your PC and when powered on the drive would not spin up at all and appear to be completely dead. If you meet this problem, try to swap PCB from another donor WD drive.
Maxtor hard drives' typical failures
Firmware corruption is the most famous problem maxtor drives have! Main part of firmware is stored on the platter in so-called System(Service) Area. System Area occupies the negative cylinders, usually on the inner diameter and contains a number of firmware modules. If one of the modules becomes corrupted the whole hard drive micro-operating system can't boot up, the drive can't initialize correctly and stops working. If this situation occurs the drive becomes identified with its factory alias(N40P, CALYPSO, SABRE, GRIZZLY etc) quote often with 0 capacity. If you attempt to boot up from such drive or read any data from it you would get "Disk boot failure. Insert system disk and press enter" or "Primary Master Hard Disk Fail" or "No operating system found" or "USB Device malfunctioned" error or "S.M.A.R.T. Capable But Command Failed" or some other BIOS error.
Hitachi hard drives' typical failures
DeskStar HDDs = DeathStars?

IBM DeskStar hard drives, mostly DTLA and AVER families, are widely known as DeathStars with its reportedly high failure rates.
Samsung Hard Drives' Typical Failure
When we're dealing with Samsung hard disk recovery cases, burnt PCB is one of the most common problems we met!

Samsung drives are very vulnerable to power overheating and power surges. Often bad power supply unit combined with power streak is enough to burn spindle driver chip on the electronics and make data inaccessible.
Toshiba Hard Drives' Typical Failures
When we come to the topic of data recovery from Toshiba hard drives, we know Toshiba laptop drives and Toshiba SCSI drives. The main failure of these drives is the bad quality of bearings lubricant in some of the 2.5 inch families(most often GAS and GAX).
