Dating Seeking: Why a Matchmaker is the Better Option

Are you in the category of those dating, seeking to find love on the Internet. Have you tried Match or Eharmony? On their website, match.com cites that they have the most singles online with a membership of 15 million and that they have "more ways to communicate by sending a wink, IM or email." On the website for Eharmony they are tagged as the "#1 Trusted Relationship Site," and "each compatible match is pre-screened for you across 29 dimensions."

Now, I'm not here to slam either of these sites or any other Internet dating site for that matter. Of all the sites out there, these two do seem to be reasonably reputable. However, the purpose of this article is to compare the difference between an online dating site and how a real matchmaker or matchmaking firm can produce far better results. I do have a disclaimer; my friend did utilize Eharmony and she met and married a great guy and they just celebrated their one-year anniversary. But, that is not always the case and you need to investigate all of your options before choosing the route you'll walk down in the road to romance.

Those dating and seeking to find love know that the dating scene is not always easy and it's not too difficult to find a less than desirable prospect for a date. Sometimes, there are too many choices and you don't know how to chose. For others, you may not have the confidence in order to find the right person and you are unsure of yourself in social settings so you utilize the online dating services. But there are dangers that you should watch out for.

For instance, what sounds better to you; being matched to a compatible person through a pre-screening test through 29 dimensions or having a professional matchmaker hand pick an individual that is well-matched to you? I might lean more towards a matchmaker. It's great that online dating services offer these screening tests (although not all of them do), but that does not protect you from all of the dangers involved in meeting someone online. Anyone can visit one of these dating services, complete the online registration and start the screening process and or then post a profile, but there's one problem. How do you know that the profile someone posts is accurate? There is no way to know that for sure. You have to go blindly into this dating method and walk by pure faith in the fact that humanity is good and you're not expecting everyone to be a liar. That's great, but there will be those times when someone is fooled by some online interaction because anyone can easily present a lie as truth online.

In contrast, if you utilize the services of a matchmaker or matchmaking firm, you are receiving professional help from someone whose specific job is to find you a compatible mate. Their dating prospects are screened, in person, and background checks are done and you can rest more assured that you know this date prospect is not hiding behind a computer and sending out false information online. Of course, there is the possibility that a less than desirable character can manipulate the system and get passed the screenings and background checks and be a real loser; however, those chances are slim and less likely than if you utilized an online dating services. Regardless of the way you choose to find your match, always use your common sense and investigate your options. Remember safety is your top priority.
