One hot August Sunday in 1954 my shipmates at Anacostia Naval Receiving Station went swimming in a rock quarry. That week I came down with polio and was sent to Bethesda Naval Hospital where a CIA agent told me to sit in a dark room and meditate on what sin I had committed as a child to make me paralyze myself. While I meditated I was told to drink a large glass of frosty orange juice. I don't remember how many days I meditated, but the LSD in the o.j. did its work, I freaked out. Dave, I dropped out of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1952 and joined the Navy. I didn't come home a hero because I didn't know what happened to me. I enjoyed your testimony on TBN tonight. Thanks for the good you are doing with those who come home from the war all messed up. I didn't get to continue my ministry because I didn't do well before a crowd.
