"Something Special"

I had received a call earlier in the day, from a lady, that knew she was "Something Special".

She informed me that she had VIP tickets that also included VIP parking. Which I did not have much information about that. I explained to her, that I had been kept in the dark, like a mushroom, about most of everything for this night!

She continued to tell me, she needed a VIP RV space.

This RV/Campground Park, is a big, mostly a big dirt field, with utilities and restrooms with showers in the middle. No RV cement slabs, no picnic tables, no shelters, nothing more!

Since, this was a very special night, we were letting almost everything in, except tents. But I think, there was one way in the back corner of the park. In the darkest part, where nobody was and no lights. I did notice something there, but I was really too busy to check it out.

Usually the trailers/RV's must be 10 years or newer. Some are allowed that are older, but must be in really nice shape. Not in "ill repair". Mostly those are done on a one by one case.

Vans must be self contained and if someone wants to bring a horse trailer, but no horses, it must have the sleeping quarters in the, for people.

But, tonight, just about anything goes.

The lady was checking to make sure she could bring in her horse trailer, so she could sleep in it.

Out of habit I asked her if there was a sleeping area, for people, in it? She replied, "Oh yes, and cooking and much more."

She kept insisting for the VIP RV Space. I tried to explained, while I looked through my trailer window at the RV spaces in the field. I told her, we really did not have anything like that, but I would take care of her when she arrived.

This should have set off a light bulb in my head.

Whe she arrived, she did have the horse trailer, that looked almost new, with human sleeping quarters.

I put her in a space, a couple of spaces down from us. Which I usually kept our row, pretty much empty, for many reasons. Mostly, to try and put the people on the spots with rocks, level and near the bathrooms. We are far from any of those. But this space was close to us, I could keep an eye on her rig. The Best VIP space/treatment I could offer!

After checking her in, she wanted to know where is the VIP parking for the concert? "I am not riding that shuttle over with those people! I paid extra for the VIP treatment!" she announced.

I called around, and could not get anyone that had a clue about this. But I remember seeing something about VIP Parking when I had been over at the Fairgrounds, earlier in the day.

Finally I told her, to drive over to the front of the Fairgrounds. There must be someone, around the concert area, that could help her.

After she left, we never saw her again, that night.

The next morning, the trailer did not look like anyone was or had been in it.

About 4 pm, well after check out time, which was noon, I called the number on the registration form.

The lady said she would be over soon. She had been so upset about the concert. Nothing she had expected. Just the smoke and type of smoke, was enough to drive her completely out of the concert, less than 1/2 a hour after she got there.

The people were crazy, drunk or/and just plain stupid! She did not know which or all the above.

So, she left and she spent the rest of the night with friends at their homes. Then she went home.

Not a "Happy Camper".

I guess we are not the only ones thinking this was a "Brain Dead Night!"

"Bummed Out Designated Driver"

A black SUV rolled up, with 3 younger male passengers and a bit older guy driving.
When I walked up, the 3 younger males started cheering. One asked, "Are we on private propety yet?" I looked up and had a confused look on my face. In return, the 3 younger males, started laughing and telling me that "Now, They Could Start Drinking!"
I think they had started at least 100 miles down the road.
The driver, was very stern and not in the mood for all this laughter.
He started to ask me questions but everytime, he was interrupted with jokes, laughter and wise cracks.
The driver finally grabbed the registration board from me, and started filling out the paperwork. That was not enought to stop the 3 smart ass guys. At one point I thought the driver was going to turn around and smack them, like they were his little kids. So, I decided to walk away and start on the next vehicle, while he finished filling out the paperwork and dealing with, "Dumb, Dumb and Dumber!"
My wife came out of the trailer and walked over, to try and help. But in return the 3 younger party animals, asked her why she wasn't at the concert? She explained that someone had to watch over the RV Park while all you "wild guys" were having fun! Plus we did not have tickets and could not afford the cost of them.
They then told her, they would come back and kidnap her.
That was enought to send my wife right back into the trailer. She helped by watching out the windows and radio me, when I missed something.
I guess getting that close to craziness was enough for her, for the night!
I assume having 3 party animals, younger than our children, telling my wife they were going to kidnap her, made her very uneasy. I can see that. But I told her they are just playing. But she pretty much stayed in the trailer the rest of the night, with the door locked!
Sometimes, it does not take much to upset, or get to a person. People don't realize, before they speak, that some words, now a days, can really upset/disturb a person. Even, fun loving sayings!
With all the stuff going on in the news, and us not really like being in cities. Just the smallest unexpected saying, can make my wife rush back into hiding.
After checking them in, we only saw them from a far. They would stand at the shuttle bus tent and dance around. At times they would call out to my wife and even say "Hi" to me.
So they end up being just harmless party animals, and they seemed to have had a great time!
