Incredible voice, very talented young man
No words can do justice to Declan Galbraith's voice or his capacity to skillfully interpret a broad range of music.
Suffice it to say that at age 7, Declan Galbraith sang just for the fun of it at a street fair, the following year he won 15 talent contests, and by age 9 he was signed to a 3-album record deal worth a million British Pounds.
Just before his 11th birthday, during a nationwide tour, he sang "Tell Me Why" live with some 10,000 children and was also simultaneously linked, by radio and satellite, with more than 80,000 children in their schools all over the UK, who accompanied him in achieving the world's largest choral sing, breaking the Guinness World Record. (The event was organized by 'Young Voices in Concert'. Funds from the record-breaking attempt were donated to the Sargent Cancer Care for Children.)
In March 2003 at age 11, Declan won 'Best Young International Performer of the Year' at the 'Twenty-Fourth Annual Young Artist Awards', and his debut album sold over 200,000 copies in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
He appeared at the Queen's Jubilee at St Paul's Cathedral, where he sang 'Amazing Grace' accompanied by the St Paul's choir, and at an Elton John concert where at least 22,000 listeners were present, and his most popular YouTube video has had over 10.5 million views.
So, go ahead and listen to a few clips and decide for yourself... how talented is he?

Tell Me Why Lyrics
- Song written by Ian Mack, Stuart Mack, Barry Mason for Declan
Tell Me Why
In my dream, children sing,
a song of love for every boy and girl.
The sky is blue, and fields are green,
and laughter is the language of the world.
Then I wake and all I see,
is a world full of people in need.
Tell me why, does it have to be like this?
Tell me why, is there something I have missed?
Tell me why, 'cause I don't understand,
when so many need somebody,
we don't give a helping hand?
Tell me why?
Every day, I ask myself,
what will I have to do to be a man?
Do I have to stand and fight,
to prove to everybody who I am?
Is this what my life is for,
to waste in a world full of war?
Tell me why, does it have to be like this?
Tell me why, is there something I have missed?
Tell me why, 'cause I don't understand,
when so many need somebody,
we don't give a helping hand?
Tell me why? Tell me why? Tell me why?
Just tell me why?
Tell me why, does it have to be like this?
Tell me why, is there something I have missed?
Tell me why, cause I don't understand,
when so many need somebody,
we don't give a helping hand?
Tell me why?
(Why, why does the tiger run?)
Tell me why?
(Why, why do we shoot the gun?)
Tell me why?
(Why, why do we never learn?)
Can someone tell us why we let the forest burn?
(Why, why do we say we care?)
Tell me why?
(Why, why do we stand and stare?)
Tell me why?
(Why, why do the dolphin cry?)
Can someone tell us why we let the ocean die?
(Why, why if were all the same?)
Tell me why?
(Why, why do we pass the blame?)
Tell me why?
(Why why does it never end?)
Can someone tell us why we cannot just be friends?
Why, why?

Declan Galbraith albums - very young
Amazing!
- age 10
Declan Galbraith as Elvis? Yes --
in a medley with Darius Campbell and Des O'Connor
More videos
- older and still talented
His natural (meaning "untrained") voice gradually changed as he entered adolescence, but at age 14 his down-to-earth personality and character seem to still be intact -- and he still seems every bit as comfortable in an interview as he did at age 9. See and hear it for yourself:
