Denise Nuttall

Michigan, Michigan is where I spent the first 20 years of my life. The times were the 50s and the 60s. Times were good then along the lakeshore of Lake Michigan. Where I lived, I was nestled in between Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan. It was called Lakeside.

It was a great location to be a child. Surrounded by water great for swimming and hiking. I also lived right across the street from a city park that had tons of activity going on summer and winter.

Back when i was young the city had money to put into the parks and recreation. There were lake dances sponsored by the city. The parks had tons of activities to do (sports, crafts, games and competitive talent shows against other parks. You were never lacking for anything to do. No one ever stayed indoors much. Maybe to watch American Bandstand on Saturdays.

It was a simple and safe time. You could roam the streets day or night and never fear for your safety. Basically, everyone knew everyone. Heck when I was in kindergarten, I walked back and forth to school all by myself and was fine. We never locked our doors at home unless we were gone on vacation.

I was lucky to have grown up when I did. You can't live that life today. Not even in Lakeside.

I have a new grandson! He is perfect. And what is better yet is I get to spend the whole day with him when Mom goes back to work.

I am sad that my daughter chooses to work outside the home but she has such a great job that she loves, she really misses it while she is home with her new baby. That may change later. But I gain by her not wanting to stay home.

I am really excited! I would love to be able to take care of all my grand-babies but they do not all live close enough for that to happen.

Being with my family is why I write on Squidoo. I am able to be with my family and yet earn a little extra spending money. Plus Squidoo is helping to hone my craft of writing online. I am hoping to be able to earn enough from Squidoo alone to pay my expenses eventually.

Having a freelance writer business was never something I had dreams of as becoming when I grew up. Of course when I grew up we never had such a thing as computers. It wasn't until I had been working online for quite a few years that I realized that I really loved to write. What came about was Denise Nuttall the freelance writer.

With my freelance career, I have so much free time to enjoy my family. I love spending time with my children and grandchildren.

Before I started freelance writing I had to make money to help support our five children. I never seemed to have enough time for the kids when they were growing up. Now my life has changed so dramatically thanks to the internet and the ability to make money on demand in my time not someones else.
