Detect Wireless Network
What Does The Term "Detect Wireless Network" Mean?
When you have a wireless networking system set up between your computers and you have the required equipment and software installed on the computers, there is a communication process going on between the computers in order to allow the computer that is not hooked up to the main Internet source, to access the Internet source. When you are trying to get the second computer connected to the Internet, there is a button within the wireless network software program which is the Detect Wireless Network button. When you press this, the devices will start to find each other in order to communicate.
The Detect Wireless Network button is basically the user telling the devices to find each other so that the computer without the main source of Internet connection can get connected to the Internet. The results will either be a connection made or there will be a error that will state it can not find any kind of wireless network. Once this happens, then you will have to basically start from scratch in order to find the problem. You may have something that is not connected properly or your software program did not install on the computer correctly.
If the Detect Wireless Network result came up with an error, there could also be a problem with your router or the adapter that communicates with each other. Sometimes the adapter may have a bad antenna on it that may need replaced and sometimes the computers have internal antennas that are not strong enough to get out and actually communicate with the router. You may have to replace the antenna or if you have an internal adapter, you may have to purchase an external antenna to get the connection. There can be many types of problems that could happen and that is why you should start from scratch to try and cure the problem.
If you Detect Wireless Network result does come up with a message that states you have made a connection then that means that you are good to go and the computer should be able to access the Internet. You have to remember that what affects the router will affect the adapter. If, for any reason, the computer that has the main source of Internet connection is turned off or cut from the Internet, then the computer that has the adapter on it will be cut from theĀ Internet at as well because there will no longer be any type of communication.
A wireless network booster, like the popular model from Cantenna, can extend the range of your wireless network or connect to other networks in your neighborhood. It connects to your wireless router, access point or home computer or laptop fairly easily with an integrated RF cable.
