Diabetes Cure

Currently, there is no cure for diabetes. Organizations such as the American Diabetes Association use donations in efforts to help treat, prevent and cure Diabetes.
Millions of dollars are spent every year on research. As of right now, the only thing those who are already suffering can do, is minimize and maintain healthy blood sugar levels. A strict diet and insulin are what helps maintain these levels. Curing this disease is a top priority for many doctors around the world.
Based on studies conducted by the ADA, in 2002 there was an estimated 224,092 deaths. In this slowly declining economy and fast food nation, Diabetes rates seem to only be on the rise. A cure is desperately needed. Many people are unaware that they even have it. Simple tests are used to diagnose the disease, but not everyone takes diabetes so seriously.
Presently, in the United States there are around 54 million people with Pre-Diabetes. Pre-Diabetes is when blood sugar levels are elevated, but they are not quite high enough to be diagnosed as Diabetes. Donations to organizations such as the ADA or one of the many others can aide in the progress of finding a cure. Federal and State funding provide much help, but it is not enough. If there is no funding, there is no research and in turn, no cure.
Cutting edge breakthroughs happen every day. Diabetes is a worldwide killer; it has no prejudices. It can affect anyone of any age and race. The doctors and scientists are doing as much as they can. But everyone is able to jump in on the fight; get tested. A simple, painless glucose test is available at any local medical hospital. It is inexpensive and it can not only save a life, but help in ending the battle against Diabetes.
In order to get more funding for research, scientists have to come up with solid ideas and points to convince the government to lend more money. It is an exhausting endless cycle. Finding a cure is within reach. Support from all sides can only advance our knowledge of this terrible disease.
