Diabetic Recipes
Diabetic recipes are the equivalent of regular recipes in taste and nutritional value, so if you have diabetes there is no excuse for not eating healthier.
Diabetic Diet Plan
Fats and Sweets
Limit the amounts of fats and sweets you consume. Fats and sweets aren't as nutritious as other foods. Fats have an exorbitant amount of calories. Sweets can be high in carbohydrates and fats. Some sweets contain saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol that increases your risk of heart disease. Limiting these foods helps you lose weight and keep your blood glucose and blood fats under control.
Examples of fats:
* salad dressing
* oil
* cream cheese
* butter
* margarine
* mayonnaise
* avocado
* olives
* bacon
Examples of sweets:
* cake
* ice cream
* pie
* syrup
* cookies
* donuts
How can I satisfy my sweet tooth?
It's OK to have sweets every now and then. Try having sugar-free popsicles, diet drinks, fat-free ice cream or frozen yogurt, or sugar-free hot cocoa mix.
Other tips:
* Share desserts in restaurants.
* Order small or child-size servings of ice cream or frozen yogurt.
* Divide homemade desserts into small servings and wrap each individually. Freeze any extra servings.
Remember, fat-free and low-sugar foods still contain calories. Talk with your doctor about how to fit sweets into your meal plan.

Great page you've put together, I just wanted to add quickly something because of the effect that gluten intolerance can have on diabetes. There is some information which your readers would find of interest: http://www.felicitysglutenfreehandbook.com and there are a few mentions from medical journals also
Keep up the great writing!
