Look Within
'Tis there that I reside.
Life begets death begets life anew
and all within my tides.
Winter's frost and Spring's fresh dew
do feed the thirsty land.
Summer's heat and Fall's colored hue
brings harvests to thy hand.
Morning in the bower
She slept on the moss
Diamonds of dew on her hair
A hint of the dawn
The sun not arisen
in shades of the palest rose
and again
Huddle deep
Seeds asleep
Life to keep
Dew
Open eyes
Seedlings rise
Newborn cries
Heat
Cover all
Standing tall
Forest hall
Dry
Gather in
Blowing wind
Dark begin
Snow
Far out
There everywhere now, didn't you know?
They're trying to figure out our way of life.
One of them's even the president's wife.
What's really scary, I tell you times three,
Is that I'm not sure that I'm really me.
Anti-neo
but I can do much better.
Here's 15 words straight from the heart,
to bring us all together.
We must learn to love all the Earth's children
or our future will never arrive.
It's not rich against poor or black against white
it's all of us here together.
Darkness of soul must hide from the light
and never look in the mirror.
Stuck
I know where I want this to go but I've been simmering on it for almost a week now.
is there news of the war?
For my man has been too long away.
The harvest's nigh here
then the rent will be due
and this babe, he soon will be born.
Our lord bade him go
to care for his horse
Trying to get it right
Another limerick
Sometimes I make them too big.
Sometimes I make them to small.
Sometimes it seems
whatever I do
I can't seem to make them at all.
Lots of little bitty seed beads that go every which way when the knot comes loose because my grown up fumble fingers just can't get into a ring that small to hold it.
Haiku of spring
Haiku is a very narrowly defined variety of poetry with a 5-7-5 syllable count, a reference to a particular season (spring in this case) and a definite grammatical break after the first or second line. - new in Feb, '08
scents in the air bringing joy
the frogs are croaking
Haiku poetry
Hoe that garden
Another very sharply defined poetry type 8-8-5-5-10 with the 1st, 2nd and 5th lines rhyming - new in Feb, '08
Who spent all her time killing weeds
Bent over the hoe
Yet when the winds blow
All she gained was good soil for weed seeds
Fun Limericks
'Tis the Season
(for politics) - written in '00 instead of running for office
My Liberty to live how 'eer my path may bend.
What Happiness I Pursue is mine to decide.
The consequences of which I vow to abide.
No person, no group, not even a nation,
Has the right to take from me my creation.
Whether goods or time or idea aborning,
'Twill always be mine in the eve and the morning.
No harm will I do to another unwilling,
Save in defense or justice fulfilling.
I give to others as they give to me,
I leave them to choose, to choose and be free.
So rise up ye people who yearn to be free.
Throw off your shackles and learn to see.
Let go of your fear, your greed to control.
Let living your own life be your goal.
The political season
I'd Like to Get to Know You
I wrote this one in '05 for my dating bio
Gershwin, Don Henley and Don McLean.
Books by Heinlein and Herbert and Marion Zimmer Bradley,
by Clancy, Arthur Hailey, and Anne McCaffrey.
Debating the meaning of Constitutional bounds,
carrying a gun with a full load of rounds.
Racing a car, coming up with a poem,
writing a program and designing a home.
Have you seen this country, the high and the low?
Do you know which direction you want your life to go?
If you've room for a friend, a partner, or more,
let's get together and open the door.
Cycles of Existence
Freeform verse exploring the cyclical nature of nature
in circles around the sun.
The sun dances
in circles around the galaxy.
In it's turn
the galaxy also circles around its source.
So too does the moon dance around the earth
In cycles of light and dark.
Chasing the sun and then hiding from it.
Waxing and waning.
The sun gives heat and light, but dark gives the balance
which alone allows for life.
The sun holds the earth in its orbit.
The moon controls the tides.
The churning of which gave birth
to our remotest ancestors.
Moon the Mother and Sun the Father
to the children of the Earth.
Yin/Yang
Freeform verse - do opposites attract?
Creation and Destruction
Male and Female
Yin and Yang
Soft,
With a spot of hardness
Hard,
With a spot of softness
Each holding the key to the other
Approaching and retreating
Touching and withdrawing
Incomplete,
Until fitted in union
Forming a glorious whole
Spirits Rise
A more constrained form - five or six syllables in the first two lines and then 8 or 9 in the third
close cropped circle within,
surrounded by blossoming flowers.
A crystalline altar,
and quarters as well,
for raising and using of powers.
A body lies safe
'neath a shield not quite seen
sharing life with a falcon in flight.
Soaring high in the sky
then the stoop for the kill
and once again into the light.
A shift to the earthbound,
yet almost as free,
a great cat running in its prime.
With effortless bounds
on light padded feet
The hunt which precedes life and death.
Back to arms and two feet
Heart and mind re-attuned
to the cycles and dances of life.
Peace and Strength
This started as a scene for a meditiation visualization
pool within.
Spring fed
and crystal clear.
Warmed by the earth
and then released.
The grasses and leaves
stirred by a gentle breeze.
Soft sand and softer moss
a bower of life.
The moon rides full
and high in the night.
A woman appears,
or is it a child?
The wisdom of ages
in her eyes.
To meet her, a man,
yet more than a man.
A vision of horns
on his brow.
The dance of love
begins anew.
The cycle of creation
turns the wheel.
Lives beginning
and ending too.
Ever changing
yet eternal.
May I share this dance
with you?
A feeling of joy,
of life distilled,
suffuses the air
and the ground.
The cool fire of the moon
caught in the pool
and reflected
in their faces.
Are they Gods...
or is it a mirror?
Shards
I woke with the first 2 lines running in my head and couldn't let them go until I wrote this down in fall of ''07
shattered within my soul
That once pristine landscape
untouched by the vagaries of life
Trusting, believing
infinite potential
Reduced by the scars of ten thousand cuts
to fearful immobility
Invisible Pain
Depression in '06
Screaming without sound.
Living without breathing,
Lost and never found.
Tight the bonds that hold me,
Unseen and yet so strong.
How terrible I must be,
For all I do is wrong.
And yet I move through every day,
And no one seems to see.
The pain that flows in every way,
Is none of it real but to me?
Do you like it?
Let me know

- Yes, I enjoyed it!
I am giving you a sum of traffic for this reason from here http://www.ezine-act-politics-business-and-love.com/ezine-act-blog.html This is a gesture of love. We need warm feelings my friends, as they are stronger than businesses. Friendship is always the best. This exposure happens and involves those connected to me in any network. I chose to do it this way to give everybody in this connection an opportunity of more exposure. I would suggest all masters and mistresses here do the same. It is very useful networking!
