M24 Chaffee Tank - 1:32 Scale
M24 Chaffee Tank - 1:32 ScaleM24 Chaffee Tank - 1:32 ScaleThe M4 Sherman Tank was no match for the German Tiger or Panther. Its 75mm gun couldnt penetrate their front armor. It didnt have the range or firepower of the enemy, but with its 425 horsepower engine, it was faster and had a faster rate of fire. Its biggest advantage was in sheer numbers, produced in 11different factories, 49,234 were made, outnumbering the German counterparts 14 to 1. It was this numerical superiority, added to the Allied control of the air that gave the United States the upper hand. In 1943, a replacement was needed for the M3/5 Stuart light tank. The M24 Chaffee, with its twin Cadillac 110 horsepower engines, arrived just in time for the Battle of the Bulge. With the same weaponry as the M4 Sherman, it was quick and nimble, traveling up to 35 mph. The M24 Chaffees finest hour occurred in Korea. They were about the only tanks available in the Pacific at the start of this conflict. Although outgunned by the North Korean T-34/85s, they managed to slow down the advance south until heavier armor could arrive.

The first 4,724 M3%uFFFDs were built with a riveted hull that caused many problems in combat. Outgunned and outclassed by the German Panther, the M3 Lee helped the Allies survive until the arrival of the M4 Sherman.

M7 Priest Tank - 1:32 Scale
M7 Priest Tank - 1:32 ScaleDuring the early days of WWII the U.S. Army was having some success moving the 105mm howitzer with half-tracks. Its pulpit like structure for the machine gun gave it the "Priest" nickname. 3490 were built. The M7s mobility and reliability overcame its two main shortcomings- the crew was exposed from the top and the two weapons had very limited side-to-side arc of fire.
