What is a Digital Audio CD-R
A digital audio CD-R is a disc designed for consumer ( Stand alone ) audio recorders. The majority of theses units require a CD-R that is compatible with Serial Copy Management System (SCMS). When recorded in a consumer audio recorder, the disc is usually recorded at a 1X to 4X speed. These disc's may also be recorded in a computer CD-R recorder up to 52X. Types of Digital Audio CD-R
There are 3 types of digital audio CD-R. Types being the surface or top of the disc.
Shiny Silver / Non Logo
These are the disc's that are completely blank on the surface and are usually silver in color. This type of disc can be thermal printed or you can apply a label to it.
White Inkjet Printable
This disc has a special white coating on the surface for CD-R inkjet printers. Currently I have not seen any that are hub printable.
Branded
These are the "retail" disc's. They will have a logo or name brand silk screened on the surface of the disc. Ususally there are a couple of places to write in information of the contents of the disc.
