Dime Club Review

Ranked #35,574 in Education, #623,017 overall

If your club is devoting a ton of it's revenue to gym marketing you need to re-evaluate your strategy and bootstrap you advertising efforts.

First, some of the best leads come from your current customers. Make sure to ask for referrals at point of sale, offer ongoing rewards for recommending friends and family, and keep it fun by making it a game or contest to get folks involved in the action.
Next, Guerrilla marketing for health clubs has always been underutilized. Develop relationships with local businesses and come up with cross promotional opportunities. Sponsor the healthy items on a restaurant menu and give away guest passes to the diners who order them, Offer reciprocal discounts with area businesses. Buy fishbowls and offer to purchase lunch or some service to a lucky weekly drawing winner.
Another way to ensure there is a ton of word of mouth gym advertising and excitement building is to lead with the giving hand in all interactions whether it be a potential prospect or promotional partner. Give away value and the members will come. Offer to host a free boot camp to a local companies employees, Comp out training an on air personality for some free props on the radio or TV.
Finally, during all of your intermingling with local business owners and celebrities acquire a little expert status for yourself. Become the trusted source these community leaders count on for fitness advice. Believe me the people will follow.

While not an exhaustive list these tip can put you and your health club well on the way to being recognized as an area healthy lifestyle destination and expert status, generous fitness benefactor, welcoming host to your existing members friends/family and all around great person. Using these suggestions along with continuing to build credibility, relationships, and promotional partnerships and you may not have to ever spend a lot on advertising.

Unless, of course all that money you are making starts burning a hole in your pocket.
