A million dollar lesson for free: Never advertise your business. Advertise yourself. People join people, not a business.

You found your target market. Network Marketers. They have a business. They are not interested in yours.

If they are part of the huge number of people failing in network marketing then they would like some real help. You must have something to offer other than another business that looks a lot like the ones where they already failed to find success.

 I Use This

Or you could just keep advertising your business to people who are not interested. Sooner or later they will likely fail with their present company and begin a search for their next company. You could be their next sponsor. But of course they have been exposed to hundreds of companies. They just failed. Possibly they have failed many times. They wouldn't know a good company if they saw one. So it wouldn't even help if you had the very best company. Why would they choose your company? Or what if you do get lucky, and they choose your company? Then you get to compete with all the other distributors in your company. Why would they choose you? What are your chances to sponsor them? Really, you need to think about it. Do you have any hope?

Even worse, how are you going to compete against people that know what I know? I say that because it was only a couple of years ago that I was advertising my company just like all the others who miss success. Knowing what I know now, I would never go back to advertising my company. Success always eluded me then and for good reason. Now I build my business easily and consistently. And myself and my team will teach you the same skills, no matter what company you are in.

My favorite is the Thursday afternoon call. Maybe it's my favorite because I co-host it with Penny Dude. We show people how to use sites like Direct Matches to generate leads for their business.

All calls are generic so you can't ask questions about specific companies or products. But you can schedule a private call for these kinds of questions.

OK, here is how you do it.

First, you need a great profile. It should be about you, not your company. Don't brag and don't tell people how little you know. And of course, do not mention your opportunity. A picture of you is a must. Remember, you are building a relationship. People join people.

Do a "networking search". You want everyone. Make sure that there are no boxes checked so you will get everyone. If you want to, then you can select a country.

Your search results will be everyone in the database starting with the newest member first, with the oldest member at the end of the list.

Construct a letter that can be used with most people. Start the letter by addressing the person by name if available, or by id if there is no name. Sometimes you can get the persons name from the web page they advertise.

Check the persons profile to see what you may have in common. You can always add a paragraph when needed to mention these things. Things like close to the same age, living near one another, or the person lives somewhere you have lived before. You can find plenty of things like this to add.

Different people get different results from their approach. It has to be natural for you. Don't copy others. You start the relationship building. Get people to view your blog or your squidoo site or a site like mine...

Be sure it is not about your company. People need help to succeed. So I use help sites. Almost everyone wants and needs help. They already have a company and even if they don't, they don't want to hear another pitch.

Note: You will have to be a customer at Direct Matches at $9.95 per month to be able to send emails to more than just five people. It is worth it. The cost cuts down the competition.

Send your letter to all the new people who join Direct Matches. You may want to add them as your contact also to help you keep track of who you have already invited. After your first day, you can just start at the top of the list and work down till you reach the people you emailed previously.

Build a relationship and your chance to pitch your business will come. Or use what I use and people will ask to join you without you ever having to pitch them.

You are not interested in what they have. You have a business. Don't pretend to be interested in their opportunity. Once you become their prospect, you will always be their prospect. They don't have many so they don't want to give up on you. That means there is no chance that they will ever look at your opportunity.

So you need to let them know you are not interested. It's not that you are rejecting them or their opportunity. It's because you already have one.

You want to build a relationship. Maybe they know something that can help you build your business like a squidoo lens about how to generate leads at Direct Matches. Or maybe you have something to offer them that can help them build there business.

Just remember that network marketing is a relationship business, not a sales business. Sure you can sell people on joining you and then they never do anything, so what good is that. You can do it forever and never build a residual income and that is what this is all about. Without the residual income then you just have a job working for yourself. Big deal.

So build the relationship. About 98% of everyone will fail at their current opportunity. If you have a relationship with them then you should get an opportunity to tell them what you do.

Keep doing what you have been doing and you have less than a 2% chance of success. Yes, about 2% of everyone in network marketing is successful. Most of them had what it took from day one and could succeed with almost no support. But the rest of us are not so lucky. We need a lot of help to be successful.
