14K White Gold is 75% gold mixed with 25% white metals (usually palladium). White gold rings are coated with a hard protective finish usually rhodium, a silver-white metal like platinum. In some white gold the 25% white metal is nickel but is used less because 20% of People Are Allergic To Nickel.

Sterling Silver contains 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.
